| Just thought i would put it up here... someone here today tried to tell me that you couldn't take 2 cyclone missile launchers in a terminator squad... some people agreed with him because of the "A" at the begining of the cyclone section... "up to two terminators may replace their storm bolters with either an assault cannon at +20 points or heavy flamer at +10 points or add A Cyclone missile launcher to their existing weaponry for +25 points" we decided that it was allowed because of the "Their"... i just thought i would put it here because a red shirt was telling me that "A" can mean and in english english and that there is a language barrier... now i understand they speak a little different then us but i don't think, even without the part after they named the missile launcher, that you could think that they could only take one.... it says at the beginning of the sentence "up to two" GW, in my experience and in the current ed./3rd ed, has never put an option section where you can take 2 of one thing or 1 of annother (special weps.) they make them into two ex: sisters of battle- they can take up to two special weapons one line down it says that if they only take one special weapon they can have a heavy flamer... so the point of this was to show you all that red shirts are not always right and always read the rules and if you must take them very literally... don't ever second guess because of a wording that you "think" would be different in the original language... because this is our language and if the person wants to play it where they read it like they think a brit would then they should go to england and play there... i am sorry but i don't speak english english i speak american english and i will read the codex that way hehe ![]()

Blog Entries: 1 | that was one of the thinnist arguements i've ever heard! i can only hope that he gets beaten to death with a dictionary for his stupidity. apart from a few variations in the pronunciation of certain words and vowels, the english language is the english language where ever you go, even if gw are infamous for their inability to use it properly in their publications. i can assure you my american friend that A means the same thing in the uk as it does in your own home town. "up to two terminators may replace their storm bolters with either an assault cannon at +20 points or heavy flamer at +10 points or add A Cyclone missile launcher to their existing weaponry for +25 points" as to the wording of the options for termies, heres my thinking. "upto 2 terminators..." tells us that 2 termies are afforded the options under discussion. the "A", which i assume isn't upper case in the codex, lets us know that the cyclone is an option for each termie, and that 1 model cannot have 2 cyclones or another weapon from the list and a cyclone. as an after thought, the only reason it doesn't say "..a assult cannon.." is that it would grammatically incorrect, just as "..an cyclone.." would be. language barrier my hairy butt!

| I vouch for what hairyyahoo says! Although their are a few variations on the English language all over the world, I think its likely to be more different in places like Yorkshire or Liverpool in England than it is in America! "up to two terminators may replace their storm bolters with either an assault cannon at +20 points or heavy flamer at +10 points or add a Cyclone missile launcher to their existing weaponry for +25 points" See, what I get here is that the reason they use 'or add a Cyclone missile launcher' is because it isn't replacing anything, unlike the Assault Cannon or H.Flamer. All you need to do to sort this out is put ' they may' after the ' or ' and its makes it perfectly clear. Like this: "Up to two terminators may replace their storm bolters with either an assault cannon at +20 points or heavy flamer at +10 points or they may add a Cyclone missile launcher to their existing weaponry for +25 points" Now why can't GW have put that there to begin with? I wonder...
