Blog Entries: 1 | Then how would we get our story!?! It may not be your style but you'd probably have to torture him instead of kill him. But then your charactar in the story wouldn't exactly be the crowd favorite. I think, for the time being, Icarus responds better to encouragement and politley asking. Or just eating his relatives. |

Blog Entries: 1 | Chapter 3 (Part 1) Steele's Imperium Rosenadel thought for a long time about what had happened. He contemplated events, coming to different conclusions each day. He decided it would probably be easier if he fully understood the Warp. Indeed, it would help if he understood it at all. His knowledge was limited, restricted to it's effects on his world, the material realm, which may explain why they were 3000 years in the future, something he had been taught was impossible. He had explained to Icarus what had happened...the Centurion had been none too pleased. He had, though, accepted the Emperor's death rather readily, almost as if it was a release for him. The Grey Knights' reactions had been similar, if not still a little distressed. They had been travelling for thirty five days now, at a constant speed of 3,000,000,000 kilometres per second. As Isstvan was a light year from the Tyrannic Fleet Command, the closest of any enemy planet, it would be only a day until they reached the planet. Rosenadel looked up as a door hissed open. He didn't see the person entering at first. They had taken to dimming the lighting, so as to replicate the level of an old Imperial ship. It was a Grey Knight, and he strode quietly over to a console. Pushing buttons and reading displays, the warrior sighed. “What are you doing?” Rosenadel asked. The Knight snapped his head round, he hadn't noticed the Inquisitor. “Checking our course heading, Inquisitor,” the Knight answered before returning to switch off the display. “What is your name?” Rosenadel inquired, standing. “Knight-Captain Mikeel, sir,” he replied. Mikeel turned to look out of the bridge's view port. “What do you think we will find at Isstvan, Knight-Captain? Friends or foes?” “I'm not too sure sir. Gregor Eisenhorn gave you the co-ordinates, yes?” “Indeed he did.” “Well, in that case, I think we'll find friends.” “Why?” “Eisenhorn was an Inquisitor, even before you were born. His loyalty to the God-Emperor was unquestionable, even if his methods were. I trust him.” “Good, I'm glad one of us does...” Rosenadel muttered as he walked to Mikeel's side. He took a look at the helm display. It showed the current speed. It was slowly dropping. Rosenadel spun and ran to the ship's vox. The group had become accustomed to their getaway-come-transport's systems over the past month. He activated it, and said, “We're dropping speed. Everyone to the bridge.” Turning back to the helm, he read the ship's speed quickly, then realised that they were about to stop. The elongated stars reduced to glimmering spots once more, but more interesting was what lay before them. Icarus sprinted onto the bridge, coming to a stop almost instantly. The other three Grey Knights followed, each with a gaping jaw as they looked upon the spectacle. An entire fleet of ships, Gothic in appearance, with dark, shimmering hulls, gun cannons protruding from their flanks, and long, bent, gleaming prows. Suddenly, a mechanical voice rang through the ship. +++Identify yourself+++ it stated simply. One of the closest ships turned so one of it's laser batteries faced the transport. Icarus pushed a button, activating the inter-ship vox. “This is transport VIII, from the Tyrannic Fleet destroyer Wrath of Erek.” +++Surrender or you shall be fired upon+++ “We surrender,” Icarus replied. The ship shook, then began to fly, of it's own accord, into a large hole in the Gothic vessel's hull, a dock. As they landed, all of the ship's door, once more of their own accord, slid open. Rosenadel could make out the sounds of men running and officers barking orders on the decks below. Icarus levelled his Force weapon at the entrance to the bridge, aiming it's inbuilt Bolter at it. The Grey Knights took up positions also, drawing Force Swords and bolt pistols. One took cover behind a console, readying a Psycannon. Rosenadel, who had recovered only his ornate Force Sword, blessed Bolt Pistol and his battle garments, drew both his weapons and put his Rosette on display. A man walked onto the bridge, followed by a group of other men. Icarus lowered his Force weapon, cocking an eyebrow. The Grey Knights came out from cover and holstered their weapons. Rosenadel simply stood, smiling. “Who are you?” the first man asked. He was in charge, an officer. “I am Lord Inquisitor Ignatius Rosenadel, Ordo Xenos. This is Centurion Icarus Athrasuriel of the Adeptus Custodes, and this is Knight-Captain Mikeel, and his men.” The officer eyed Rosenadel's Rosette, then inclined his head to the right. One of the men behind him hurried off into the corridor. “We have been expecting you, Inquisitor. Your services are badly needed here, Lord Inquisitor Eisenhorn holds you in very high regard,” the officer said. “I see,” Rosenadel answered taking a step forward. Icarus, still tense, relaxed a little, and smiled at a wide eyed soldier standing beside the officer. “He said you came from the 41st millennium...is that true?” “Yes, though he updated me. I guess you were the people he intended for us to find?” “Yes, I would assume so. He left me very specific instructions.” “Good...” Rosenadel muttered, looking at the uniforms and weapons of the men behind the officer, who was himself studying the Grey Knights, though his eyes widened slightly when his gaze turned to the imposing Centurion on his extreme left, almost as if he hadn't noticed the giant, which itself seemed impossible to Rosenadel. “And you are..?” Icarus said as the officer continued to study his armour. The officer seemed to drift out of conciousness before snapping back to reality. “Captain Steele, sir. I welcome you to Imperial space.” “Imperial space?” “Yes, sir.” Steele made the Aquilla on the breast of his Imperial Guardsman's uniform.
