Crusaders of Asomrof (My Codex SM army fluff)

Yeah here goes:

"The Crusaders of Asomrof... so you have chosen, so it will be... I decree that the one hundred and forty marines before me now Crusaders of Asomrof, and no longer Black Templars!" - Helbrecht. 972.M41

At the end of the Black Templars' Asomrof Crusade, the 140 surviving templars returned to Sigismund's Oath, Helbrecht's flagship. Having been sufficiently bloodied, and entreated to the Emperor's Divine Light and Purpose, the marines now had a different course than the rest of their crusading brethren. Marshall Baruch petitioned Helbrecht to formally secceed from the Black Templars chapter and to form a successor. Helbrecht was very reluctant to let them go. However, recently lexemechanics have finally reached a thorough estimate of the Black Templars chapter forces and have deemed them over 100 past the Codex maximum. given Coteaz's supposed activity in the Asomrof Crusade, Helbrecht knew the Inquisition was on their trail, and did not want trouble with them. Helbrecht thus declared the crusade veterans to be a successor chapter. Baruch chose to have his chapter named after the crusade of which brought about their succession. Thus the Crusaders of Asomrof were born.

The Chapter is still in it's infancy right now, stockpiling its weapons and training more recruits.
Its planet is now Asomrof Primus, the 5th planet from the sun out of the 10 in the system. Recently settled, Asomrof Primus is marked out to be a hive world.
Because of the system's age equivalent to that of the chapter, all new recruits have been from other planets across the galaxy, and there has been no pattern in which planets are chosen.
In 975.M41, the chapter had it's first foray into battlezones after successfully completing the process of becoming a full successor chapter. It's first battle was at the Udiab system, where traitorous planetary governors have formed an alliance to set the system against the Imperium. Surgical strikes targeted at all the major worlds (5 of some 14 planets) destroyed the leadership of the resistance, and Guard regiments were brought in to mop up. The Crusaders of Asomrof, it appears, will have a long glorious history ahead of them.

Battle Organisation: the chapter is completely conforming to the Codex Astartes, no traits. There are rumors that they employ an Emperor's Champion as with their Derivation Chapter, the Black Templars, but no such rumor has been confirmed.

Chapter Number: 5658
Founding: 41st - for some reason, the actual founding number was unrecorded. sometime in the beginning of M42 scribes roughly estimated/equated the chapter to being in the 41st founding, and so it has been ever since. No one knows what founding it actually is.

EDIT/Update 9/22/07:
Inq Lord T. Coteaz's Ship, with contingent of grey knights on it is an ancient GK strike cruiser of unknown origin, created sometime in the 35th millenium. It's name was lost until it was brought out of Iapetus reserves for use sometime in the beginning/mid-41st millenium, the order being signed by lord Coteaz himself, and was thus born anew as "The Hourglass". A decade later, it was rechristened "Bellum Malleus" and so it has been known ever since, always in service of Lord Coteaz.

Hey, looks good! The chapter symbol might be a little to Black Templar for me, but it is your army. Perhaps a different symbol with the templar cross worked into it? Like I said, your army.

And I am interested in why the Emperor's Champion's nickname is Uri if his name is Bethuel.

The EC being long time friends with the marshall is called "Uri" by baruch as a sort of fond nickname :P (same in the templars fluff)

I am probably going to change the chapter symbol and color scheme
ONCE i finish my templars and start on the marines. Right now basically this is what lets me field my Asomrof templars as a codex SM force.

I noticed this in your signature and thought I'd check it out. It looks pretty cool, even better since I'm a Black Templar player. A little side note though. The part about the BT have around 100 marines over is, well, a little off.

I'm not trying to poke holes on your concept, but the BT actually have somewhere around 4-5000 extra marines.

Sorry, just something that bugs me a little where ever I see it. But, are you going to update this? I see something good in the making!(Or, if its already made, something good growing!)

well I will update,
when is more of the question, because since about May I've been working on rebuilding my Dark Elves, getting more DH done, painting up my Deathwatch Killteam models and possibly starting empire or dwarves, so BT sort of got put on hold.

with High Elves coming in Novembre, I can't say when I'll actually get fully back to the little black crusaders =/

and the 100 was more or less a "made up" number, because I knew they were over the limit (fluff suggests) and I couldn't find any real detailed numbers, plus the fact that in the way Imperium works, number estimates get WAY out of synch with real, I thought I'd settle for 100. (thus giving around a "company"'s worth of marines to start with, and doesn't have to involve creating more than 1 chapter)

on the fluff, I think remember writing more than this, just gotta dig up the ol' word document =P

though I've included a new tidbit to get my fleet for BFG's development moving again ;P
