|  A fallen chapter... Ok recently I had been working on some background and fluff for a DIY Space Marine chapter. Well about a week ago while discussing the new Chaos Dex with my friend I had pretty bad idea, but sadly this bad idea has started to grow on me and now I find myself wanting to see it through. Why not make a traitor / fallen chapter instead. My chapter was being based as a successor chapter to Blood Angels. I wanted to continue to use and play with their rules being a fan of their new dex, but I just wanted them to be bad guys. Well sorta... Now we get to the good part. After much thought I was like yeah, bad guys but not in the normal sense. Having read all 4 of the Soul Drinkers novels I wanted them to be traitoris excommunicate but with alittle twist. I wanted them to be declared this falsely, something along the lines of a corrupted Inquisitor (Yes it can happen, one was being controlled by the Eldar) who was about to be exposed or was caught in the act by some of the marines in my chapter declared them traitoris excommunicate. He then had some way of delaying them or holding them up long enough for it to go through / he framed them in some way. So now they are just out for revenge. They dont care about doing the work of the emperor they are still anti chaos but just kinda floating out there looking for some payback. And if they get lucky enough to clear their name and bring down the corrupted inquisitor in the process then more power to them, but the ultimate feeling of the chapter an Eye for an Eye. Obviously this is just a rough idea but wanted to get any thoughts on if its just to out there or would just be ridiculously stupid to try to spin it this way.

| Very good except for the "floating around looking for vengence" part. I little too apathetic for space marines I think. Maybe if you talk about the Inquisitor that declared them excommunicatus. Something like because he is a corrupt inquisitor he would have to cover his tracks and he has locked himself on a fortress system and so it would take the Space Marines considerable effort to exact their vengance. All the while they have to protect the system and avoid anyone else stealing their chance of retribution. That way you can fight other races.

| Yeah, I was entertaining the tought of possibly having the corrupt Inquisitor die at the hands of the chapter by accident or before they could clear their name or prove him to be the traitor to the Emperor. Something that would leave them still excommunicatus but clearly they are not falling down the path of chaos and stuff. I could go a different route and have them be the only chapter ever to be declared unexcommunicatus. If such a thing would even be feesably possible. Maybe then do bring down the traitor Inquisitor and prove they are not traitors themselves. But really you might think with the way the Inquisition roles that they would rather have a falsely accussed chapter go to waste then maybe appear corruptable and weak by having one of their own be proven corrupt.

| It would be interesting to have the sanction lifted. Then considering the way information if passed system to system in the Imperium some planets would never get the information of the sanction being lifted and all hell would break lose if your chapter landed there.

| Sounds like it just might work, well looking to get alittle more feed back and maybe some other opinions before I decide which way to role with it. Im just glad that my corrupt inquisitor ruining my chapters name idea didnt bomb out and somebody liked it alittle. Thanks for your help and tips, hopefully when I finally get enough free time to really write something it will be alittle more in depth and a bit better of a read hehe.

Blog Entries: 1 | this sounds very cool. the tail of a wrongly dishonoured chapter just trying to survive in a hostile universe. even if you do end up lifting the sanction against them they will still be viewed with mistrust and susspicion. i like the idea of the corrupt inquisitor puttin the whammy on them, thats a nice touch. i'm temted to say kill off the inquisitor before they can clear their name, and then have the chapter seek vengance on the inquisition as a whole. that would be an impossible task but a cool twist.

| Hhmm I like that, they still fight chaos and whoever gets in their way but they really just want to stick it to the Inquisition. Yeah...
