| So I finished reading Let The Galaxy Burn and can positively say that it was one of the best 40k books that I've read for a long time. Anyone else read it and which was/were your favourite tale(s)?

| Conscript ![]() | yes i know wat u mean. i love the new series on the horus heresy it offers so much into the glimpse of imperial history and demonstrates why the imperium is like it is in the 41st millenium. it is the best so far out of the first 3 books, tho i do realy like flight of the eisenstein. It also demonstrates marines of old which i really like. But the best thing is the theme of ultimate betrayl of brotherhood, exemplified (sp) by the mourneville (sp). I.e the betrayl of abbadon and i forget his name against loken and torgadden. sorry for the bad spelling but i havent got the novels handy.

| Mate, don't get me started on the atrociously bad Horus Heresy books and how much of the official fluff they subvert and get completely wrong! Anyway, it seems that hardly anyone has read this book then...oh well.

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | People keep saying the Horus Heresy book are horrible, but I think they are quite good. Dan Abnett did a great job (as always) starting it out, and the rest of the authors did a fantastic job of keeping the original style and characterization. I know there are some fluff discrepancies, but I still think it's a fantastic series, and sarpedon is right, it does provide incredible insight into why the Imperium is the way it is!

| Yeah, it's good. Some of the stories are a bit iffy 40k wise but that's just because they were written so long ago. One of my favourite stories is called Snares and Delusions which is a tale about a Word Bearer army under the command of a Dark Apostle. And to please the people who think that Mr Abnett can do no wrong there are a few stories written by him including an exclusive Ravenor short tale which is called Playing Patience and tells the story of how Patience got her last name (Kys, for those not in the know). I still need to read Ravenor Rogue but am not wasting my hard earned cash on the £16.99 hardback so I'll have to wait a few more months before the paperback edition comes out. After reading peoples opinions and reviews on the web I don't think I'm missing that much! Stroll on the new Soul Drinker book and Ciaphas Cain book! ![]()

Blog Entries: 21 | Honestly, it was probably one of the best books i've ever read in my young life lol. I was incredibly sad and gloomy when everyone pretty much died at the end and or is fate is clouded in controversy. Though at first i mourned them, after five 5 seconds of mourning i realised the extent of wat happened i now find myself yelling LUPERCAL!!!!!!!! at random lol.
