| “Inquisitors, the prisoners are assembled.” Malekai turned from Colonal Balle and looked at the unarmed, disgraced tau warriors. “I don’t belive I ordered the taking of prisoners. Why did you then do so?” “Mi’lord, you also did not forbid it or order us to kill them all. Plus, the surrender of the Cathedral to the Emperor saved us many lives. It’s a very heavily defended structure.” Malekai whirled around, yelling, “I don’t give a damn about the casualties, I just wanted the damn planet back!” Master Certo walked over and put a hand on Malekai’s shoulder and winked at Balle, saying “And did not these men deliver the city? plus they saved us the trouble of having to bury their bodies. Or ordering more ammunition. Hah!” Malekai looked up at the giant astartes, before bursting out into laughter himself. “Inquisitor Arca, these xenos are your jurisdiction. Do with them what you will.” Arca looked at a Adeptus Terra official and asked “Are there any empty transports with life support systems adequate for all of them?” The adept nodded, replying “Yes and as a matter of fact it has just been emptied. Shall I load the prisoners?” “An excellent idea. Master Certo, do you know where the Parak Seven troops are?” “I belive they have finished dealing with Kroot auxiliaries and Tau that had been posted in the slums. They are on their way back.” Arca turned around, muttering, “I’ll belive that when I see it. Gangers moving on their own? Hah…” “Mighty fine thing, this war eh captain?” “By the emperor I love the Tau.” Captain Yusuf unholstered his new pulse pistol for the 100th time that day and gave it a quick rub. “I wonder if I can convert this to use las-charges…” “Captain Yusuf!” The vox channel interrupted him. “This is Inquisitor Arca. Bring your men up to the starport…I have an assignment for you. It’s important!” “Of course Sir whatever you say,” Yusuf switched off the vox and looked back at his troops. They milled around the Tau command post looting anything that wasn’t bolted down. Which was most of the room’s content. “Spook wants us back at the ‘port. I think we’re done here. Ahmer! Drop the tank hatch. I think he’s gonna notice that one!” “Aww cmon Cap’n I like it!” The three platoons of hive gangers dutifully followed their captain the quick march back to the starport. Inquisitor Arca stood at the gate to the Starport complex, flanked by two dozen stormtroopers and his personal retinue and awaited the Parak Seven’s arrival. They arrived soon, in two sloppy columns. “Captian, please organize your men. Form up!” The hive gangers looked at the captain, who nodded. They marched into a large square formation in front of the Inquisitor. Arca looked up and down the line before speaking. “Now then. I know your reputation, and the right of plunder granted when you men enlisted. However, by the power of the Emperor’s holy inquisition I am revoking that right during this crusade.” Immediately, the guardsmen cried out in disbelief. Arca raised his hands for silence, but the clamor rose. He tried to continue, but the situation was growing out of his control. The stormtrooper seargent stepped forward with an aribite shotgun. He shot two shells into the air, silencing the gangers. “Thank you seargent. Now listen to me. The tau have unknown methods of controlling their subjects. Entire regiments of outlying worlds have turned their back on the Emperor. The Ordos Xenos belives this was due to the many tau objects found in their possession. Such as the ones you now carry. Yes Captain Yusuf?” “Sir, we signed up with the Guard so that we could serve the Emperor. We did that on Parak Seven just fine. We didn’t sign up so that we could have a good scrap. We all know the underhive isn’t a place someone like yourself would want to go too often.” He laughed. “We signed up so we could get out of there, with the promise of rewards. But we would have to earn it in battle.” The captain pulled out his Tau pistol, continuing, “now this here gun doesn’t makje me want to turn my back on the Emperor. Neither does these….whatever they’re called. I think they’re some kind of grenade. Doesn’t matter.” “Plasma grenades Cap’n” “Shatup! Trying to talk here!” “That’s enough Captain. It doesn’t matter. We don’t know what they can do entirely, but my order stands. All of it. Now!” The ganger’s eyes narrowed, and he slowly pulled out a small pack. He walked forward, and upended it on the ferro-crete. Several plasma grenades, ammo clips, a drone’s sensor, and several other looted items clattered down. He turned around and started walking back to his men, when Arca interrupted, “The pistol. Captain.” Yusuf stopped, pulled it out, and looked at it. He spun around quickly and whipped it towards the inquisitor. A member of his retinue stepped up and caught it mid-air, before expertly disassembling it and throwing the pieces to the ground. Yusuf looked back at his men and said, “You heard the.......honored...inquisitor. Just do it…” |

| Another great part! I like the new tensions between the unforgiving Inquisitor and the Parak.
