That looks really good, I can Imagine how it would look painted. Why dont you make the walls thicker and more texture by using that plaster stuff and coat the building in it.

Ive never done that befor, but i hear it works well!

yep! run down to your local DIY store/home depot or such and grab a small bucket of multi-purpose plaster and a spare paint brush!

cardboard and foamboard have a bad habbit of getting beaten-up fairly easily! to prevent this, and also to add some cool texture to your buildings, take some plaster and water it down a little bit.
by coating your entire building in a light layer of plaster, you'll really strenghen it and help it surviv the rigours of general gaming!

this is what we did at the canadian hq with *all* of our cadian display tables! (and our helms deep table too!)
plaster coating is also a must if you're building with foamcore as it seals it and thus allows you to spray primer your terrain! (handy when you've got a dozen or so 8'x4' tables to paint!)

cheers!

Yea, also card can get very flimsy and soggy somethimes with some paints. And dont water the plaster down too much! Just a warning...

good point! you only want to add enough water so that the plaster will go on fairly smooth and not in huge clumps!

stippling the plaster after you've first applied it will also help to give it a more natural stone-like appearance!

cheers!

basically you should avoid using carboard as often as possible - try getting your hands on some 4mm foamcore, ask for it in an art supplies shop and i'm sure they'll know what your after (its basically two sheets of plastic with hard foam between them, its very good and the GW scenery people use it quite often)

another good material is to go for pink foambord from home depot! it comes in various thicknesses, is fairly cheap $$$-wise and once coated in plaster it's fething durable!
this is what we used for pretty much all the sculpted tables at the canaidan hq battle bunker!

the advantage of this stuff is 1" thick sheets you can get - perfect for making things like rubble piles and barricades!
smacking the stuff with a hammer to make rockey outcrops is also a great way to relieve any strees and/or pent-up anger!

cheers!
