I have vallejo paints and I love them....I use game color and have the military pack Each is $200 Roughly a piece. pricey but i love em...

Gw paint is awesome but i HATE the pots they come in. Its not worth it to me to get paint everywhere. I just use the droppers and when i knock it off my desk or something it stays put!!

Yeah I was lucky cause this kid at my local GW where I used to live picked it up for me then I gave him the money £15 (which I think is a reasonable).
I'm gonna get another one when I go to Salute in London, one for this diorama and the other for a display piece!
Death Korps fans be not afraid, NO! mutant will get away with the killing of our Krieg brother (others will be in the diorama) None can't fight the slow plodding eventuality of the Emperor

Question Re: Dead Death Korps!

I NEED YOUR HELP PEOPLE!
As I've already posted the Renegade Ogryn with Death Korps victim,
you'll notice that the Kriegman has a Laspistol but no type of rank identification on his left shoulder, and as far as I'm aware only Watchmasters and higher can posses a Laspistol.
How can you explain that from a rule or fluff point of view?

APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU PEOPLE CAN OFFER.

I dunno what a watchmaster is but in the dex it says that a SGT can carry a laspistol. I guess because he has access to the armory. so if a watchmaster is a SGT or higher he can have it.

OR he is a trooper in trouble (obvioous!!) and he grabbed a laspistol as it was closest to him to fight with!

OH, I have an idea!

He could have watched his sergeant die, and taken the gun from him, swearing to use it to keep the memory of the fallen officer alive by using his weapon to smite the foul denizens of the warp/ the xenos terror.

Would you go so far as to convert the Kriegsman into a Watchmaster?

Question Re: Dead Death Korps!

Thanks some good ideas, but it still bugs me how this Kriegman
cannot be accounted for in the way fluff says the Death Korp Army
issues it's weapons, same as the watchmaster with the Laspistol and
Powersword in the Squad at Ease.
Anyone else noticed this?

He speaks the truth! And I'm really looking forward to that diorama. Is it going be sort of like the Death of Colonel Attas on pg 74 of IA 5?

And as far as the weaponry goes, maybe he's an artilleryman or something, they have las pistols. Another explanation is he probably found it off a dead guy or knows the Quartermaster personally and got it from him. It's not unusual for troops to aquire weapons that "they arent supposed to have" and I'm sure its the same for the men of Krieg.

As for the powersword I'm bummed that FW didnt give all Watchmasters one. It seems to me to be a unique replacement for the Chainsword other regimental officers seem to carry. Plus I think it fits Krieg better, looks more regal, antiquated, and WW1.

If it really does bother you then just get some plasticard and greenstuff and put sergeants bars on his left shoulderpad.

Hope this helps and I look forward to the next update.

Excellent painting, top notch! May I suggest an Enforcer standing over the Fallen Krieg with his Plasma Pistol pointed at him? The Enforcers just scream brutal to me.

DuskRaider: Good idea, but don't you think thats a little bias
coming from you! lol Thanks for your comment matey!

Nah, because the back story to this man is that he was digging a fox hole with an unseen companion.......when a bullet from an autogun killed him befor he hit the ground!
The Renegade gunner (having given away his position) was consiquently shot in turn by fellow Death Korps present.

The Kriegan would bayonet him before he died. To quote some Colonel who I cant remember his name right now "To Retreat is defeat."

And I want to see some more pics Gunner.
