Yo to you all, so, having flipped through the new chaos dex a couple of times i fell fairly confident in saying that there are few of us that will be using the reaper autocannons or heavy flamer on our defilers, opting instead to take advantage of the fleet ability and go for the extra two ccw arms. but this leaves us with something of a dilema, as the defiler only comes with 2 ccw arms (3 if you include the living vehicle component, which i don't cos it's fugly  ) and we need 4. other than buying another defiler kit or gettin unbelievably lucky on ebay, this means that we will need to get modelling.so heres the deal; if you got a cool idea for converting or scratch building a pair of defiler arms post it up here, we'll pool our collective creativity and hopefully come up with a method that we can all use, no matter our skill level, maybe come up with a set of templates that can be printed out and mounted on plasticard or something. that would be cool! who's with me? personally, i'd like mine to have another pair of those large clawed arms it already has just to keep the feel.it shouldn't be too hard to get the measurements from the model itself.

Blog Entries: 1 | i might have to get the ruler out and measure up the component's dimentions. from there we'll have a better idea of what we need to do. is there some clever computery way of drawing stuff to precise measurements? i could do it on paper but thats a bit hard to post on the forum

| There's always the option of fleshing-up your defiler with plenty green stuff/milliput/sculpy and replacing the legs and claws with tyranid claws and talons - the Carnifex kit would be especially good for this.

Blog Entries: 1 | thats a nifty idea if you want a fleshy organic look for your defiler, although the nid claws would have to be pretty freaking huge to not look outa place. well since steve is on retreat for a while is there anyone else who could volunteer to do these templates? i wouldn't want to intrude on his personal time or anything.

| how bout a pair of arms that are a mix of the big claw and the fex sything tallons? like a large metal version of the tallons would look pritty intimidating along with the big claws imo.ill try and get a sketich together tomorrow.

| i didn't mean stick the scything talons in the leg holds - i meant not using the leg chassis at all and having the talons and claws coming out of the bottom of the body - somehow i think that would work.
