| There's a bit of a story behind this model. I originally bought her when I was at Sandhurst (British Army's officer training academy) but, being a bit of a busy bee at that time, I put her aside and she languished in my "to be painted" pile for some years, during which I travelled the world, got married and had children (more or less in that order). I finally dug her out a couple of years ago and undercoated her and got cracking but then discovered that I just didn't have the skill and patience to do her the justice I felt she deserved. The thing was, you see, that she came in one piece, and reaching all of the different bits was a complete pain. The truth is that I still don't have the skill to really do this model justice, but I need the cash that I could get from finishing and selling her, so I've finally had a go at finishing her. She's about 99% done, with just a few bits and bobs to do that you can't see in this image. If there's interest, I'll add some more photos of the details when she's all done. ![]() Anyway, pending anything better coming along, I'll probably enter her in the Large Model category for our regional painting competition that GW's running in the UK this Summer. Blog Entries: 1 | Crap on a rod. That is stunning! I actually really love the rich red on the cloak, i think that makes the model! I maybe wouldnt have gone for that green on the back of the cloak, but thats just taste, its really well done and this model stands a ruddy good chance in any comp you enter. (PS check out our monthly comps!) plug, plug |

| I'm afraid I've never really understood the 40kterra monthly competitions. I found the schedule, but can't find the rules, the sign-up or the results of each month. I don't understand whether May's event counts as a "painting" competition or a "conversion" competition. It isn't clear whether these can be combined with the TOXG. Frankly, the whole section needs a major clear-up. I don't even, really, understand where I'm supposed to post the progress in my TOXG Necron army. R. |

Blog Entries: 1 | We maybe should make a new intro page. All you have to do is take a pic of your unassembled/unpainted parts in front of the big yellow entry text or something that dates the parts (newspaper or such like) and post a a final pic. You can WIP it along the way if you wants as well. We then have a self marking process so the decision isnt based on a panel of judges The Xgamers is new and there shouldnt be any issues with combining entries, but I will clarify that. |
