|  Magnets? I am looking to magnetize my Black Saints to allow for them to be the allie SM for my Radical DH (which means weapon changes, etc..). In doing this, I was also interested in arming my Emperors Champions model based Master for the Black Saints (adonis) as well as my FW dread, a predator, and other things. How would one go about mounting magnets in such models? If I was too vague in my asking, I can clarify if you can poitn out where! Thanks in advance! |

| well as far as the predetor you will need 2 whole extra spnsons and magnatize them and you can cut the ends of of the twin linked las /auto cannon and put a magnet there i dont see why you would need to magnetize a dread you can just get more arms and switch them out im not sure about the emperors champ i dont own that model but i just magnetized the new commander set and i love my options i can change him between battles with all the gun and CCW options in the box |

   | I have 3 preds and 2 dreads mag'd in the manner you are suggesting...as for the turrets to the preds I just bought extra sprues to avoid having to worry about that part...for general purposes there is a rather well written piece in our own forum here about magnetizing a model, it basically covers the general aspects...for the preds you will need extra sponson bits as WR has stated and then a total of 24 mags per model... As to the dread, you have to get mags that match the diameter of the arm studs, for best results...cut off half the arm studs and then attach your magnets to the remaining stud and insert one into each of the arm sockets...be sure that the total length of the mags do not exceed the amount of the stud you cut off or they will have a tendancy to let the arms droop. As to the troop models...I'm not sure as I haven't attempted that as yet...I have way too many to even try at this point...but I'm sure once you have the basic concepts down that it will be a simple matter of common sense and a small amount of trial and error...

| What kind of magnets are you planning on using? Rare Earth Magnets($$$) or the cheap stuff you can get at Wal-Mart?

| Rare earth mags aren't all that expensive....you can usually by around 80-100 of them for under ten bucks..so actually...uh...that's fairly cheap...there are a couple of good sources on-line which I and other use...shipping is fairly quick and as they are wholesalers, you are actually getting a better price for buying bulk then if you go to wal mart and buy the junk they sell (peel and stick)...Try this link for starters http://www.amazingmagnets.com/
