Try this: augmentables pages

It's a Model Railroading company. The rivets are at the bottom of the page. And, they aren't quite as flat as they look in the drawing.

why not drill holes in the pads all the way through, glue to model then clip off paperclips and make them like studs?

I've used scale brass belaying pins before, and other pins from a dollhouse furniture set.

The pva glue+pin method does work, but it is fiddly and if I've learned anything, it's that far too many 40k players don't have the patience for anything that requires - erm, patience.

Many techniques also become easier with time and practice. I would call something like this 'easy' as I've been putting models together and doing this kind of thing for the better part of 30 years.
