i dont mean any thing bad by it what i meant was that the english colonized the planet
think about it there isnt a corner of the planet that hasnt had the Union Jack flying over head at one time or another
in every continent
and from such a small island
very impressive

Yes, you yanks and brits use inches in 40k, just like us aussies (and we don't even use inches as a standard measurement anymore.) We went metric back in 1966.

But to answer your question on whether other countries play in metric. The French and Spanish 40k rulebooks are done using metric measurements. I think a few other euro rulebooks also use metric, but offhand, I can't recall which ones they are.

As for "imperial" measures. We have to deal with both yank and brit imperial measures on nuts and bolts - and they are both different from metric. So much so that we have special "metrinch" wrenches (spanners) here where I work.

OK,

Since nobody ever answered the OP, here it is:

If you have a Standard measurement, and want to go to Metric (inches to mm), multiply the inch measurement by 25.4 IE: 1" = 25.4mm and .040" = 1.016 or roughly 1mm.

If you have a Metric mesurement and want to go to Standard, divide by 25.4 IE: 2mm = .078" or roughly .080".

BTW, they call it Standard measure in the US, for about 40 years now. Imperial measure is only good for liquids.

I'm a machinist, and use these simple coversions daily, but I'm really surprised that NOBODY remembers this from school.
