| The Great Wolf ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Umm get the acrylic rough coat...or you can spread a solution of two parts ELmer's glue and one part water all over it...then rough coat it...it's not necessarily the rough coat that is eating the styrene but may be the propelant from the can...check the DIY stores like Home Depot or Lowe's and ask about spray acrylics that won't damage the stuff...or you can spend the ridiculous sum of $30 for a can of drivit....

Blog Entries: 1 | a generous coating or two of watery pva or wood glue usually does the trick for me. just curious...what are you making from polystyrene that requires a rough coat finish? |

Blog Entries: 4 | As my hairy friend says-use a generous coat of PVA (or two) you can even add a littlesand into this to save you having to use rough coat! I use this technique for any scenery I make Im guessing at buildings or the like!?

Blog Entries: 4 | For things like that I realy do advise a bit of sand in some PVA-saves on the cost of roughcoat spray!

| The Great Wolf ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well again...it's NOT the paint or the rough coat that is eating the foam...try Brushing an oil based paint on poly some times...it doesn't melt it...HOWEVER most sprays use PROPELANTS that will eat the foam...there are a few out there that are styrene friendly so it's just a matter of finding them and getting stuck in...
