| Soldaten ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey I was modeling some of my Pre-heresy space marines, you know sorting through the studded shoulder pads, when I realized that there are not any studded legs. A studded leg was a highly popular part of the pre-heresy armour, just as much as the shoulder pad.. Im a little disappointed that there are none... However I did purchase plastic rod, very thin rod and glued it to a leg so that it sorta looks like its studded. Does anyone have any other ideas to make studded legs?

Blog Entries: 4 | rivets are what I've seen too, especially on the studded conversions, not sure where you'd get them though...

| Banned | best method ive seen is this - lightly score the areas you want to have the studs with the point of a craft knife. then stick the tip of a toothpick into some pva glue and apply it to the score, reapplying the glue with eavery rivet. imho it looks a lot more convincing than platicard rod (which is not rounded) or brass pins (which never rest flush against the plastic) be warned though, the pva dots may fall off of the model isnt spray undercoated/varnished properly if its handled roughly. i have a few models glued up like this in presudo-crusade armour and they came pretty good |

Blog Entries: 3 | The odd little brass pin type things they use on reports, that have two little foldable parts and such, they splay out to hold the papers together.. Horribly vague, but those would work too. Any leather store should have them. If you're real nice, I'll venture into my dreaded closet and see if I can find my catalogs and supplies.

Blog Entries: 3 | I used to work at Office Depot.. And I remember we had ridiculously tiny ones, hence why I mentioned it... Rivets are the best bet though.

| i used green stuff for my librarian; a) make a small 'ball' of green stuff and gently lay it onto the leg b) using a sharpish & finely pointed tool, gently press down the very edges of the ball. (it takes alot of paitence!) that should give you a rounder, less flat stud effect... of corse, all you americans can look for small brass ship-building pins! (that's what dave taylor uses... generally availiable from hobbytown USA stores IIRC) sadly, i've yet to find any of these in the GTA?! ![]() cheers!

| The Emperor's Mercy ![]() ![]() ![]() | maybe if you carefully sanded the plasticard rod that might help ? but i think the way to go is definitely the studs..tiny pin marks will help you get them in easier as well.
