Default what was the most complicated conversion you've done

I hope this is the right area to start this thread. I'm just curious what some of the members of the site have had the most trouble modeling.

for me it was this: necron walker vdr i made prior to the necron codex release.

when i look back on this guy now i think i could make him much easier and better now but i've learned alot since then and he took alot of thinking out of me to get him as he is. and worse for me i dont even have him anymore. i traded him off with the rest of my necrons.

although my 1000son ts termi sorcerer is coming close for the amount of time i've put into it.

for myself it was modeling the wing from the new balrog on to a hive tyrant. nice necron walker, like the old school feel.

There ya go.. That was where they were left at... I intend to finish the project, with the new chaos termies as a base. Just so I can getthe guilty looks from the broken pieces of them out of my head!

A Legion of the Danmed dreadnought. Had to pretty much re-work nearly every surface of a standard Imperial dreadnought. File stuff down and re-sculpt bones and flames...even had a skeleton crucified from it's banner pole. It was really fun to do, but alas...the entire Legion mysteriously disappeared to continue their battles elsewhere in the galaxy....yep, i sold the whole lot of 'em!

this one is a toughy...rargh. maybe my chapter master ? i had to chop off a lightning claw from shrike [sorry mate] and glue them painstakingly to a guy i'd prepared. he has custom energy packs on his backpack, a kroot war trophy, a pair of tau bonding knives taken as "souvenirs," wiring from the claws to the backpack, and some other small conversions. i don't really recall, lol...XD

this one...

it involved repositioning, greenstuff sculpting, true scaling the legs, and getting the weapon haft to line up properly was a real pain.

not really done any major conversion work myself... yet. For my CSM army that i've finally got all the bits for I am converting a Carnifex into a Defiler - which will be fun and require a lot of greenstuff. Which I have never used before.
time for a steep learning curve! Hoorah!

hmmm....this is a toughie for me......

i would have to say the brass scorpion!
heres an unpainted shot: its painted dont worry relax hairy

its all plastic so it was easy to work with, but remember i had no instructions at all. all i had was a blurry picture of a picture of the picture in the apocolypse book. details were non-existant! and then i had problems with the 2nd defiler kit it got, because it didnt come with the legs. it had two body sprues. so i had to custom build a gigantic thing with no referance point and missing peices. fun! but it was worth it. its definatly my favorite vehicle.

Gotta agree with dan.But one of my defilers was already put together(i got from a trade). And matching the two main body cuts so there was even gaps between legs was a pain. But this model was great funto do.

My best would either be my Mortar or Alternate Emperor's Champion. I do a bunch of small conversions rather than large ones but I think those two we the coolest.

a head and weapon swap on the SM vet with the very cool crusade era armour. swaped his mace head for a SW axe head, and his normal helmted head for the deathwatch barehead. the barehead was alot harder than it sounds to pull off.
