Default Benefits of the new 5th edition rule book.

How do you feel the dark eldar benefit or suffer from the new rules with the release of the 5th edition?

Biggest benefit is by far Webway Portal. Hold everything in reserve until turn 5, maybe earlier if people are coming after your. If they do come after you let everyone out and have an assault party. A Drachon holding this in a unit of Grotesques is deadly. Give Grotesques a 4+ cover where they ignore anything that has S5 and below and you will have no problems.

Where they do suffer is that they have no scouts or infiltrators and cannot take advantage of the Out Flank rule.
High initiative units with tons of power weapons and the ability to isolate an enemy is enormous.

In all of the scenarios do not forget the scenarios. If you want to win you have to be devious and take things at the very last minute. Thank fully you have the best assualters in the game so you can give up the objectives until you want to take them back.

The webway portal works great in the new rules, but I am finding that my raiders are lasting much longer and are able to transport my warriors much easier, now that they are harder to take down, with the new vehicle damage chart.

the new line fo sight rules have helped too. one thing is swival pinning the darklance on the raider, since line of sight is drawn from gun/models head (i think?). which means it can stay obscured and still pop shots. also incubi can now move in the shooting phase (but can't assalt damn it!!! ). also slave snares can remove guard commands squads (on a good roll, anyway) sinces hits now have to be alculated to the whole unit. In general the new rules for cover make the regular warrior more surviable as well as other units in the army (people will real start to hate mandrakes becasue of the +2 they get to cover saves). also they will probley [so i'm guessing since i have yet to use them] be one of our best units for contesting objectives. (thou it does suck they can't claim them, but o well)

Have you guys actually seen page 174 of the new big rulebook? the first page with the background for the Dark Eldar.

I'm guessing that the artwork on 174 and 175 are giving us a huge hint as to what the new models will look like when they come. its a step in the right direction on all accounts from what I can see.
