Oh yeah, I played it while staying with my mom, my buddy brought his 360 up and we played for a couple hours while my mom ran some errands. Nothing helps you recover from surgery like mass destruction! It seems they took the best parts of a couple of games and made a epic co-op masterpiece. One of my top 5 best games. Ever.

It is still a 60 dollar game and only for the 360 and PS3, but you definitely have to play it on co-op!

I'm getting it for 40$ tommorow at fryz.

It got decent rating - only because its like R6 Vegas 1.5 - slightly improved over version one. Thats enough to get me buying it, because i love this game so much.

That i sold my cod4..

R6 Vegas was cool. Army of two is a must if you like co-op games. The weapons are awesome, and fully upgradeable. You can even "bling" them! My faves, G36 and Mk 23 Socom. Pistol death is always stylish! Frickin simutanious sniping! Grab a shield (or car door) rush the enemy with your pal in tow. Agro is a really neat trick. If you have a loud weapon, fire down, you draw the enemy while your partner is nigh invisible!

Does it have enough staying power to play the game though?

Or would I forget about it within a week or so.

Thats my hard choice. I dont want to lay down 40$-60$ for something I won't pick up again constantly.

Hence why I got H3, COD4, R6V2

Isn't Army of Two almost purely based on Co-op play? I can imagine it being AWESOMELY put together if it is.

Well, replay value I'm not sure about. I think you get to unlock weapons on different difficulty settings. I gotta play it more, and let ya know. As far as co-op though, you and a friend can have a blast. It's like being in an action film. You can even fight back to back! The first boss I mowed down with an M4 while he was running away screaming like a little girl. Two short burst in the back did the trick. I'll have that image in my head for weeks!

The ones past the PSP are pointless... but they make my point... they're a LOT more than the 360...

I for instance, do not own any console, simply because I can't afford both a gaming PC and a 360 (which is what I'd buy)... I mean, I could... but barely, and then I wouldn't have any money for my RPG sourcebooks or 40k stuff or books and the like.

I remember reading the previews in Game Informer... and Ao2 sounding awesome. An AI partner so smart you couldn't tell it wasn't a human? Stuffing Tampons into wounds to stop the bleeding? Not dying immediately, but being able to be dragged to safety and patched up by your partner? Being able to go "back to back" on a whim and become a two headed tank of death? A system designed to control "aggro" or attention between the two players so you could manipulate the enemy by drawing fire? A story about the dangers of relying on Private Military Corporations, something incredibly relevant to today's world? It sounded great.

And... Ao2 definitely has the potential to grow into those credentials. But as a game, it's mostly average: average level design, average variety, average experience. It's unfortunate, because EA spent an additional six months polishing the game. And, thankfully, they at least put the franchise's initial offering in a release window that wasn't a slaughterhouse of triple-A offerings like CoD 4 or the much hyped Halo 3. Hopefully, EA will take the lessons to heart, and craft a better sequel. Ao2 suffers from conflicting genres - cheesy 80's buddy/action flick with serious gritty Private Military Corporation/conspiracy thriller. I'm interested in both, and there are some parts where the single player game is interesting (parachuting in is kinda fun, I like the aggro system, etc).... but unfortunately, Army of Two is lacking in terms of level design (it's not like Gears, where you can REALLY flank the enemy), AI (the AI is either suicidal, or it runs away from you... to find cover, and then shoot at you). The "shoot'em in the back" 'elite characters' are trite and frustrating, although finding out you can "knock them down" alleviated some of it. I hate how you get told you can shoot down Chopper X and then have a ten second window to do so, but then if other trooper transports come in, they're immune. Many of the "buddy moments" are tepid: there's not a need very often to "simultaneously snipe", etc. Level design is crud in some areas, like when there's ONE span of wall you're supposed to boost over... but every other wall can't be bypassed in this way. I also experienced frustration sometimes watching my AI partner run around in circles in the last level, when he wouldn't turn on a panel for me so I could go through a door. Not to mention, there's a great deal of helplessness when your partner decides to spend 20 seconds dragging you to "safe cover", only to have the "healing meter" get time knocked off it every time he's hit by enemy fire. The frequent cut scenes of the pair opening roll up doors pulls you out of the pace of the game, and unnecessarily segments levels. The weapon upgrade system is somewhat spotty - certain weapons get tons of upgrades, others merely can be "blinged out". The Aggro system works - sometimes. You'll be firing and firing and firing and have to wait forever to finally get to go into "slow mo killing" mode. What's up with the inability to duck or move faster when you're a "one man killing machine"? The ability to "high five" or "berate" your partner seems tacked on and pointless: it's there to do cool little animations, that's it. I could go on and on about the game's shortcomings.

But, in it's defense, the experience is largely serviceable. It's characters are bawdy and cheesy, dark and brooding sometimes (another uneven bit of characterization from moment to moment). The combat system works, and it's basically stop and pop game play in the vein of Gears of War... The escape from a sinking vessel was interesting, and there were glimpses of great game play moments - but they were just glimpses. If anything, it was awfully short: six missions. The main antagonist is just a stupid jerk, too. He talks a great deal of lame trash, and occasionally the main characters break the fourth wall to comment on how he sounds like he's from an action movie... oh wait, there I go complaining about Ao2 again. Um... thank GOD they put in the "hand holding" GPS system with arrows/objectives, because at least once a level (usually more) I wasn't sure where to go next, what corner of a huge open part of the base held the wall I needed to boost over, etc.

Bottom line, it's probably pretty fun playing with a partner... but single player is largely forgettable fare. It's a serviceable distraction with high hopes, but mostly mediocre execution.

What I meant was after the PSP wasn't needed to be mentioned.

I love the N64... never owned one, but it had some awesome games! Golden Eye! Zelda!

I'm not looking forwards to playing Ao2, I was so heavily let down by Kane & Lynch (plus the reviews for Ao2 have been...discouraging) that its on my list of games to avoid.
