Battlefield 40k

Wow. This looks pretty damn interesting. Essentially, Battlefield 40k is a Battlefield 2 modification that places you in the Warhammer 40k universe. That's right. A warhammer 40k shooter that allows you to be something OTHER than Tau (though you can play as the Tau if you want), but there will be no less than SIX races: Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Eldar, Tau, Orks and Chaos Space Marines - pretty much something for everyone.

OMG, that looks so cool! Ive got BF2, and that would be amazing. Cant wait to use the Leman Russ Battletank.

Apparently, an alpha has already been released for Battlefield 1942. The mod for it is still in production, but by a different team.

I have Battlefield 2 as well, but it won't work until I get my new computer later this year (bad graphics card on my current machine). Maybe we will be able to play a match together online when I get mine working.

I'm waiting for the opprutunity to blow some Tau heads off.

Hell Yea! I bet its going to great. Though i think that no one will be playing the Guard, unless they have some amazing explosives or something.

I hope they keep the Jets. Thats what im best at. Maybe a valkyrie for the Guard, a Thunderhawk for Space marines and a Tau Barracuda.

Hmmm...they'll probrably be something to balance the Guard out....maybe an abundance of vehicles or something. Unfortunatly, I have seen no report whatsoever of flyers incorporated into the mod. Granted, they still have a bit of a way to go, but I think we would have heard something by now.

this mod is pretty old. back when the original creators made it you could only play Space Marines. Same weapons as the battlefield 2 just a different skin. im amazed at how far they have gone.

Is battlefield worth aqquiring for my birthday wich is 1 moth away is it worth aqquring the battlefiled series?

well, I have battlefield2, and battlefield 2142 now, and they are moth amazing games. I love the action within the game, and its a really good FPS because you are playing against other people, not just stupid AI players. I've got most of the BF games, minus Battlefield 2142. Is it a good game? I've seen it around, but am not sure whether to spend my hard-earned (yeah right!) cash on it.

Hmm, one bad thing about 2142 is that there are no jets (I owned in a Jet!). But the weapons and gadgets are really good in 2142. Also its slighlty easier to get preomoted compared to BF2. Another good point is that in BF2, you had to unlock all the wepons in one tier, before you could unlock the ones in the nex teir. This time in 2142, you can unlock gadgets, but you can unlock say; all the recon class weapons, and not bother with the others.

Generally, its a really good game. The graphics are amazing for it too, enven on the lowest setting!

Oh, and by the way, iether BF2, or BF2142 both have singleplayer, and multiplayer games. The single player games are restricted to 8v8 players, while the online ones can have up to 32v32 players.

Each of the BF games are stand alone games. The BF 40K mod will alter the game files, so you can only play against people who have got the mod, and not the rest of the world (which is normal).

Dang why didn't I see this thread earlier! I noticed this site the other day and it looks sweet. Its deffinetly worth getting so I can slay The Emperors foes on DC and BF40k. At last,(well if I noticed it earlier...) a 40k shooter!

Ok, I may have to have some help getting it to work, but this is def. worth a try. We shoudl organize some friendly games around this!

I've already tried out the earlier version (BF40k-1942) and to tell the truth, it ROCKS! Rocks rocks rocks rocks rocks! But anything that lets you run around blasting hell out of Chaos is.. entertaining, to say the least I would reccomend trying out the old one if you can, but of course, i can't wait until the BF2 version is out! =]
