it can't really be said that software will catch up to PS3 and it'll all be good, because then I come back and say "once the software catches up on vista and DX10..."

Then the proverbial @#$% will really hit the fan for consoles won't it?
Not to mention better quad cores and the GeForce 9x series which will be due in no more than 6 months at rough estimation.

And I'm quite sure that many multi-platform titles that are mainstream will still be optimized better for 360 than PS3 for some time even from now, or at least the PS3 won't optimize better.

Oh and XBOX live is 55$ Canadian per year.

Windows Live Anywhere.

The concept is that anything you will use online, electronically will be synced under one SN.

XBOX LIVE
WINDOWS LIVE
WINDOWS MOBILE

etc etc~

IP TV will allow you to watch TV and use WINDOWS LIVE still and chat with your friends.

This connection will copy cat interaction and social networking which will precede more than just hardware specs alone.




@ Warchild - Yes, it seems like Blu Ray is indeed winning, as people are going towards BR.

In all honesty, BR is indeed the best choice, it is strong, and is better. Undeniable. But the ps3 overall is just not kicking in just yet.

Alright I'm preety sure I'm gonig to buy an Xbox 360 and Xobox live sounds like it wont cost that much in Australia thanks for all the help and also I've been looking at Assasin's Creed which looks preety sick so I think I'll get that as my first game.

I disagree with that last statement... the most important thing about a console is: graphics, cost, games

This has long polluted the gaming industry. Gaming is now, quite frankly, a second JOB. Its no longer fun as it used to be. People - The Game Industry, to be precise - poor so much effort into making their consoles have the best graphics on the market. Anyone remember StarCraft? I Still play that, and that has terrible graphics. But GAMEPLAY is what matters, not graphics. Many games fail to grasp this. Halo 1 & 2 were AWESOME games, but 3? Too much poured into graphics. Sure its a good game, but its more mediocre. Gears of War, repetitive. In this respect, i'd say the PC is the best gaming rig XD

i still think that certain strategy games like civ, starcraft, C&C etc loose a lot of their charm with 3d graphics, which (with me at least) detract a great deal from the gameplay

most certainly blu ray (lucky sony...)

most movie companies have announed earlier this week that, coming the closure of contracts with HS at the end of this year, theyre moving the blue ray. that leaves universal ad the only major studio to stuck with HD (and i doubt that will last long)

PC is where its at and always will be at.






Wii will win by winning the hearts of the non gamer. Its their marketting plan and its working, so no hate. I think - once Nintendo can milk TONS of money, I mean they have the advantage of launching an even better console to top both 360 and PS3?! Hm.

Just a cool idea.. but I think the DS is also killing both 360 and PS3.


But, 360 still has the most sales overall - due to the high userbase, xbox live, and tons of software sold per 360. Wii - people don't buy as much games as 360 gamers~


BTW, if you can, go ebay for xbox live cards. They could help~

thats true. wher ei used to work, we'd get people queing for the wii (back in the days of the big shortage) but we'd have very few people nuying games or it (sine most were non gamers i dont think they realised there was more to it than wii sports)

I would go with the PS3, I have one and granted, the PS3 has started off slow game wise, but I think it has more potential and power in the long run, vs the 360, but like others have said, that is my opnion.

Gotta say Say Xbox 360. Just got mine. Like the controller better, the games, and well about everything. For now i don't see anything i want on the PS3, and can't see how the slightly better graphics on SOME games would make me want it.

Look at Xbox live marketplace (not that specifically) But digital is pretty much the future. Downloading or streaming.

Go over to a friend's house and play, everyone of my friend's has it. It's very fun to have about 5 of your friends all online at the same time playing halo 3.

I can't think much now but i could ramble on forever. Just get the 360, then link up with me and the others.

who says that... last I heard... they were still the way of the future... just the semi-distant future... as in, 2-3 years before they become more mainstream... maybe even later... i mean, people are still converting to HDTV... we need pretty much the entire population of the US to do that before we can get more HD/Blu-ray in the market.
