Default chromedog's Introduction

Hi, You can call me chromedog, c-dog, occasionally "Hey, you!" , but don't ever call me Ray Jay Johnston! Why not? Because it isn't my name, and it's also a pretty lame movie reference.

I found this site browsing for a good 40k forum that (hopefully) wasn't full of whining 14 year old brats ( zOMG, my army's been nerfed!)

I'm old enough to know better, but still young enough to think I can still get away with stuff. I've been playing 40k since around 1988 or so, but I missed a chunk of 2nd ed due to work.

Armies owned: Through it all, I've maintained my two core armies, my SM (the fighting 501st Chapter, "The Emperor's pride (hubris?)", but I usually play with the personal company of Chaplain Amortise Vater. the 5th company, "Vater's fist") and my now returned home "reavers" of Yriel, the Eldar corsair.

So, a "Hi" to the rest of you out there in interweb land.

Well hullo there! you're now one of many Rt vets on the site!

You'll find we rather frown on random griping and Gamestore-Kid Like behavior of the sort.. Those usually get thrown to the Stitch (you'll meet her eventually).

Two DIY armies, very nice!

Am I take your statement as meaning you have an entire chapter built though? Thats something I MUST see!

@ Lord Commander Erus: No, I don't have a full chapter - I really can't be arsed doing that many little army men. It's only a reinforced company (so, 100 fighting men+transports and command sections, plus some scout units, fast attack units and a crapload of armour to go with them.). I've done some mods and kitbashes for the vehicles though. I'm a Star Wars fan, and member of my local 501st garrison, and the dudes are painted up in the white armour/blue detailing of the "501st". All up it comes in at around 8500pts or so (but they do have their own BFG fleet, too.). Yes, I've fielded all of it for an apocalypse game, and had a blast with it.
My Eldar are around the 10 000pt size and number a couple of hundred infantry, a dozen or so tanks and skimmers, many wraithlords and walkers, and a single titan. Oh, and far from it being an expensive hobby, many of the walkers and infantry are older RT models, and a large chunk were sourced 2nd hand for a fraction of the price. I try to alternate my armies so I don't get tired of them.

Thanks for the comments.
