Default Anyone got Forgeworld?

OK, has anybody got any forgeworld stuff on this forum. They are such cool models, but not many people have them. Just wanted to know if any of you Terrans have a model or two. I don't have any, though that Trygon does look nice.

If you can, please post pictures!

Also, i think Ikarus should make a forgeworld Sub Forum. We have had many forgeworld related posts, and i think the subject is deserving of its own sub forum.

i have a valkyrie i plan on giving to my unit of hardened vets in my drop troops army... haven't touched it yet however as i still need to order those multiple rocket launchers to add to the hard point!
i've also got the grey knight land raider doors (the ones with just the basic =I= iconography!) to put onto inquisitor odion's personal land raider transport.

when astro uk happens within the next year or two, i plan on getting either gorgon or a shadowsword!

cheers!

I have the Command Dugout an ancient mould of theirs, but still available bought it in the spring, unfortunatly its still sat unpainted in my garage, its actually slightly bigger than you would expect, very nice bit of single-piece terrain though.
I also have one packet of the etched brass imperial eagles (the sheet of various sizes of eagle rather than the small ones or the big ones), which are going to be put to various uses, from IG shoulders to decorating blank foamcore CoD walls.

Though of course, just like everyone else, i'd like to own far more than that from ForgeWorld

I'll soon be getting some of the fancy looking hammerhead turrets from IA3 and some Quath'fannor ships.

My friend has the 6 inch tall greator daemon of Slannesh and he just can't keep the left arm from falling off.

I've been eyeing those alternate xv88's, they're pretty cool and a lot of their stuff is really cool, but their stuff is a little expensive for my model budget, so i just stick to the norms and my own conversions.

I have a complete sonic dreadnought for my EC, and am ordering a pre-heresy land raider from them (just for looks). Also will be ordering bits from the red scorpion pack from them for my Black Saints, as well as all my rhinos and even the front door of my predator being from forgeworld. I should also be graced with a Warhoudn titan soon, which will sadly mean my fiancee alos gets the Forgeworld eldar titan. Forgeworld FTW! Shame it is so pricy!

Default Took me Ten Years

After playing both Fantasy and 40k for more than 10 years I finally broke down and ordered some Forgeworld stuff, namely a StormBlade (been drooling over this model sense I can remember) and I also ordered 2 of the enclosed Baslisks. So Far I have only been able to clean all peices of the StormBlade and I have put together the treads and most of the main body, still have detail and Sponsense to do, but all in do time. I will post pictures as soon as I am done.

Reguards,
Sir Servo

i'd love to get a baneblade too!
mainly because that way i can run the 'sink the baneblade' senario at the new hobby store that's opened up nearby!

oh, and i still need to order those valkyrie door gunners now that i think about it!
i've got some cash set aside too, in order to eventually get a vulture to act as an escort for the transport... not sure yet how i want to arm the thing!

cheers!

Wow, i did not realise that forgeworld was actually soo popular!

Alas, I cant justify the price of a Trygon.

Also, if anybody has the latest Imperial Armour, does it have the rules for those crazy carnifex battering rams, wrecking ball and wrecking claws?

No they arent in the Anphelion project but they are in the update and thats next on a very long list of purchases.
Just saving the cash to buy a shed load of Wings for my Tyranid warriors, that will give those guard a nasty surprise (especialy as my main opponent thinks he's been very clever in buying some Pylons and a field generator)!

Oh, i just used the wings from the gargoyle wings from mail order. They work just aswell, look tyranidy, and are cheaper than the FW wings. Thats what i did anyway. The FW ones do look good though.

omg the wrecking balls look so terrible! what were they thinking! its so bad....but the crushing claws look good, and combined with the ram back thing you could say its CC/ST.
you need to clean FW stuff? i did not know this....

nile child, your friend needs to pin it. its resin, but itll still work and that 6 inch greater deamon looks alot more intimidating when its arms arent falling off.

just like plastic and metal models, the resin models will sometimes have excess flash and a few moldlines to clean up... the thing to keep in mind is NEVER! and mean NEVER, EVER!!! use a file as resin dust is about as healthy as sanding down glazed clay!
unless you have proper protection and a well ventalated area, you'll need to stick with your trusty hobby knife to clean up your forgeworld models!

also, it's a good idea to give all the pieces a wash in some soapy water to clean off the mold release coating...
not doing that will result in your primer coat flaking off!

cheers!

the big crusher arms, back ram and wrecking ball for the Carnifex were designed to represent the cites of Death 'Breachers' vehicle strategem (or whatever its called, don't have my book to hand).

why do i sense that you have a full armoured company?!!

hmmmm... i've recently heard from a friend that the gorgon assault carrier is only about 225$(can).
but then, i'd rather have my shadowsword and it's heavy flamers! *insert evil, manical laughter here!*

btw, how hard was it to put the valkyrie together? it seems they didn't package any instrusctions with mine...

cheers!

I had a search on google for valkyrie instructions, but there is only one review of the model on some modeling forum. It does not look that hard to make though.

my main problem is trying to figure out what's flash/excess and what i'm not supposed to cut!

a couple of my friends had mentioned to me that the valkyrie was a real bugger to build too... the main reason i've not done anything with it yet!

cheers!
