I think I'd have to agree. If you've read the last Last Chancers book, you find out all that has happened over the Colonel's life and why he appears unscathed after each battle... he's such a BAMF.

a BAMF? some one has been watching/listening to Dane Cook i believe. but yes the colonel who has been ran over by a tank, lost his hand, had his eyes replaced with those of a heretic to get that kick arse icey blue you know when im looking at you eyes. the colonel is fricken jason with a power sword. hell he commands at one time or another 400,000 killer inmates ( and were not talking about purse theifs were talking about the worst of the worst) and they all are afraid of him more then their own deaths. ghaunt doesnt have a thing on the colonel.

I actually haven't heard Dane Cook at all. I just use the acronym instead of getting censored.

it all comes down to this when comparing first and only to last chancers.

Pros & Cons of First and Only

Pro: better trained, fight for continuation of the tanith people, more snipers, better equipment

Cons: numbers, a kind commissar, killing with in the ranks


Pros and Cons of Last Chancers

Pros: Indestructible Schaeffer, Crazy Kage, numbers, fight for survival of themselves, vast fields of learning, seen many theaters of operation, killing with in the ranks

Cons: Their own survival before the man to their left, Suicide missions, crazy kage, indestructible schaeffer. very few highly skilled fighters

If you had equal numbers of First and Only and Last Chancers, I would say the Ghosts would win.

Gaunt has a power sword that goes through Refractor Fields. He's killed tons of Daemons and Space Marines.

The Tanith are pseudo Scottish. Nuff said :P

tactics go out the door when combat is joined.

while ghaunt has killed tons of space marines and daemons schaeffer has killed some of the biggest and baddiest of the nids. he soloed a hive tyrant and a whole bunch of other big nasties that go bump in the night.

scottish eh... well brave heart is nothing to go off of since thats only a few battles with a good leader. inmates with death penalties, life sentences and so on who are giving one last chance of freedom and all they have to do is fight will beat anyone and anything to live free again

Right, The Tanith First And Only have the Tactics to beat The Last Chancers any day. IF used in a Wooded Terrian. They would pick them off one by one.

But then you take a look at the Last Chancers, The book "The 13th Legion" And a Squad of like, 8, last Chancers and a Ad Tech, Took down a Hive City from the inside.

So. Taking the Pros and Cons froms Earlier. and Adding to them in a Combat Situation.

Last Chancers

Pros:
Would be good in a Cityfight, Due to high levels of Heavy Bolters that could be taken.
Works best in Smaller Groups.

Cons:
Not very good in Jungley Terrian.
To much Heavy Weapons and not enough Close Combat Weapons would be thier downfall.

The Tanith First And Only
Pros:
A Lot of Snipers, Plus a lot of harderned Troopers
VERY Good in Jungle Terrian and the Art of Guerrliar Warfare.

Cons:
If left out in the open, they would get picked apart.
Might not be as effective in Cityfight.


I think, That someone should model The 13th Legion. And Someone should Model The Tanith First and Only, and Battle it out. and Lets see then.

well there already are models for each. however they have both been discontinued.

you can get a 40k last chancers box. comes with about 10 inside. also as we all know there is the ghaunt and schaeffer bitz. also with the tanith there are the bitz packages that come with up to 3 tanith in each. its some good modeling but not the best.


i think we should get 2 members to make an army list for each. they must use the rules for each. such as tanith must use the doctrine listed in the back of the guard codex 4th edition and the other must use the last chancers however we will upgrade the cap on last chancers to 40 instead of 20.

should be fun. i will be the custodian of course
