Good news! - 40K Terra

The wife and I just got back from the doctor, and she had an ultrasound. They found a heartbeat, thank goodness. She is six weeks along, and everything is going well. Back last summer, she was pregnant, but the baby had no heartbeat, and she had to have a DNC (I guess that is the proper acronym), so it was a really special moment today. God willing, everything will go smooth from here on in. I have but one concern, she was around me just a bit when I had the radiation dye in me before I had the gall bladder surgery. It was only for a few minutes, because her mom fell and broke her hand, and she spent most of the day with her (does our family have good luck or what?). I hope the baby will not be adversely effected. Then again it may come out with super powers!

I love the kid already, but I hope she doesn't miscarriage again. That frightens me, but I think everthing will be ok. I can't wait to see it. I don't think Evelyn will enjoy it that much, as my family has BIG babies! I was 11 pounds three ounces, both my brother and sister were over 10, and my dad was 11 pound 1 ounce. Ouch!

That's pretty awesome dude! Today just seems to be a great day. One of my best friends will be moving into a new house not far at all from the first one, and he told me today that once they're moved he and his bro would probably start 40k! They'd have enough money to buy an army just if they sold all the oldish toys they have. Which I think is what they're doing. Sorry if this is a bit off subject, but I had to share.

No shame in sharing joy, my man. Good to hear you'll have some more opponets soon! I'm trying to get more people around here into 40k. I basically only play with 3 other people. My cousin was building nids, and his wife 1kSons, but they moved to Delaware. I might just be able to get some more family and friends into it though. My aunt wants to start playing, of all people! I mean, there are worse things you can do than get together with family and friends and have a good time killing each others plastic army! You can bet if everything goes well, I'll have my kid into the hobby very early. How old should they be before you get them their own hobby knife?

i went to the doctors and i turned out to be perfectly healthy it was funny i had unexpected vaccinations so my BP went high and the doctor wouldnt let me leave till i was okay for chrissake im 14 and still scared of shots

You know DK my aunt actually seemed pretty interested in em when I brought em out. Not sure if she'd be interested enough to play but still. Sucks that your cuz moved to delaware. Oh and about the hobby knife, I'd bet on two if you really push it. Course when he tries to chew on it that probably aint the best for the gums, but hey it'll build endurance

I wouldn't worry about that. My sister's a radiographer and from what she tells me something like that would be like standing in a room with microwave for an hour or something.

LOL Great news DK!!! Congrats!! And as the unofficial medical guy/apothecary here do not worry about the rads exposure. Stubber is right and there is little to no harm in it. You get rads from EVERYTHING now days and it is nothing more than MAYBE getting an xray, if that.

Way less exposure than an x-ray. They aren't performed on pregnant women because of the radiation could risk the proper development of the child. It'll be more like a bad case of background radiation that occours all the time anyway (which at worse is still completely harmless)...so don't worry.

Let me clear- YOU (DK) got maybe the amount of a xray rad. She as bypass exposure got just a fraction of that. She is well below safe levels!!

My gosh, is that a good ideal? Letting me mold a child's mind? Hahaha! Thanks for the info on the rad, guys, I feel better now. Yeah, Warchild, I'm gonna worry till the day it's born, but I guess every parent does that. Oh, I wanna girl! Hmmm, maybe twins. Oh man, we gotta move out of this house, it's way too small and the landlord never fixes anything. I gotta put my nose to the grindstone, so I'm going tomorrow to see if they will hire me back at the call center. That way I can take the online courses for medical transcription, and hopefully stay at home and work, while watching the rugrat. At least I know I can probably get a decent job in the medical field around here. I would like to move, because this place is so infested will pill addicts and thieves. Kentucky is my home, though, and I don't wanna leave. Did I mention the baby will be born in Virginia? Holy crap, my kid is gonna be a Virginian. No offense to anyone, but I disdain Virginia! Bad enough my wife was born in Michigan (moved here at age 6).
