| i wouldn't go ordering anything off of the US site for the following reasons; a) you still have to convert to canadian dollars + pay proper canadian taxes & shipping fees... b) US prices will change very, very soon to reflect their falling dollar cheers!

Blog Entries: 2 | I always thought stuff was more expensive in Canada as compared to US? On the back of my BL books, US : $7.99 and CAN : $9.99.

GW seems to be basing their prices on an older conversion rate between the pound and the US dollar, while keeping a more current rate between the pound and the Canadian dollar. Canadian prices probably won't go down, but the US prices should increase by 10 to 30%, according to the trade rate between currencies. I hope this doesn't happen (as an American used to cheaper prices), but it will. I can remember paying $10 for a 10 man squad of Space Marines, and $20 for a pair of Rhinos. Ahh, those were the days.

also, a basic fact of business; prices are typically agusted on a 6-month basis. (bi-anually) therefore, product is developed, marketed and priced 6 months ahead of it's slated release... now, US prices will be rising slightly! (not too much!) however, canadian prices will be going down to reflect the continued strength of our dollar. as a matter of fact, the new starter set is slated to sell at $85 both here in canada and in the US! so please, just be paitient!!! things will work out, it simply takes time becaue that's how capitalisim works sadly... cheers!

Blog Entries: 1 | Ehhhh, the only fish that would seem edible are probably the Silver Dollars (my mom love them) but they're big and need like at least 75 gallons for a small school. Besides, I was thinking of expensive fish like some discus (cost around $30-40 for a quality one). Then if I'm lucky, they'll breed! But then what do I do with a bunch of fish? Sell them back?

therefore, if you say, even if you price a 20$ product in the US for say only $15, you'll still make a helluva profit because americans simply consume that much of your given product! so no, GW isn't scaming us here in the north, they're simply doing what every other buisiness does which is make more money in the US because there's more profit to be had... cheers!

| Patron Saint of Leicester ![]() ![]() ![]() | Vlad, look at it like this: the U.S. has a current population of 304 million people. Canada has a current population of 33 million. The U.S. has almost ten times the population of Canada. So, that means that on average, GW sells ten times more product in the U.S. than it does in Canada. They can afford to take a smaller proift margin in the U.S., because even with a 20% price price break for Americans, GW still makes 70% more from the US than it makes from Canada. Even with the cost of shipping, you're still better off buying from the US.

| Patron Saint of Leicester ![]() ![]() ![]() | The US has helped to save the free world on more than one occasion (though we've had our butts kicked a couple of times in much smaller actions). At the moment, though, if you pay attention to the world and it's mood, everyone else is catching up to us, very, very quickly. We aren't the great superpower that we used to be. Some folks around the world just see us as the big bully.
