| final fantasy 6 (aka final fantasy 3 for SNES) amazing story, plus the main villan kefka despite being a totally insane madman was fething halarious! ff6 was the first time i finally started cheering for the bad guy, simply because while he was compleatly evil, he was funny about it! (and i was never a goody two-shoes general leo fan!) i'm just so cheesed that square-enix changed his best line ("son of a submariner!") in the ff6 advance re-mix! cheers!

| I don't really know how video games can change a person. Sure Halo made me a few more friends from playing it in a competitive arena, but that's pretty much it. Then again Project Zero 2 made me afraid of the dark for a few days last year. Good aul' Japanese horror games, no one can make 'em as good.

| mayhaps "changed" wasn't the best choice of words, but some games can present mile stones in a life or at least change how you look at future games

| The first video game that was a "proper" video game (before that I played little kid games) that I played was Red Alert, I still love that game and wish it worked on my current computer. After that... well, nothing for a long time. I played half-life 2 and I liked that, but the game that I thought was really good, and I mean really, really good, was DoW. I just love that game. There were other games that I still enjoy, Civ III was a great game, and I love Civ IV just as much, Warcraft III was pretty good too. Other games that I remember enjoying a lot were Impossible Creatures (I gave up trying to win the campaign after I couldn't do so WITH cheats) and Zeus: Master of Olypmis (or however you spell it).

| For me, my very first RTS was Star Wars: Battlefield, and I really enjoyed it. Command and Conquer Generals was a classic game which really got me back in the mood for RTS style games. Then DoW was really great, I had many happy hours blasting my friends. But the best game for me has to be the Battlefield games. 1942 has to be the most fun game I've ever played, probably because I played it with about 15 mates down at a Computer gaming place. BF 2 was fantastic, and now as I go on to 2142 I really look forward to it!

| DOW was very, very cool, as was the whole command and conquer series. Has anyone here played goldeneye 007? Now that is how a FPS is done, though doom will always be special in my heart. Project Eden was a surprisingly good adventure/action game too

| Ah yes! Lemmings! The game where you have to lead all the suicidal little rodents to freedom while escaping such perils as the 60 foot cliff that the little buggers are just too stupid to avoid. DoW introduced me to LAN gaming rooms and to BF2.

| lemmings, that game brings back a flashback. Doom is a personal favorite still, sonic the hedgehog, and AVP2. Starcraft is still as cool today as it was yesterday, as is the lunar series.

| Memorable games, an interesting topic. Well, there's a moderate sized list for me. 1. Mega Man 2 (NES). The game that turned me into a gamer. I pretty much grew up with this series and Contra (Contra 3 is still the best chapter). I still play Mega Man games to this day, primarily Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX. 2. Final Fantasy 6. This game and FF4 started my love of the RPG genre. 3. Chrono Trigger (SNES): One of those games that I remember as one of the best games ever made. 4. Castlevania Symphony of the Night: One of the best 2D platformers (and best games) ever made. Played this one countless times. Even beat Drac with no weapons. 5. LoZ: Ocarina of Time: A true master piece of 3D gaming. 6. War Hammer 40k Dawn of War: Brought me into the table top game. 7. Disgaea 2 (PS2): An incredibly deep, addicting, and hilarious (sense of humor is like a twisted anime) strategy RPG. This game is a must buy for anyone that owns a PS2. |

Blog Entries: 1 | x-wing and tie fighter pretty much consumed my childhood, along with command and conqure. i go through phases of addiction to starwars supremacy and i love jedi knight 2; jedi academy. the knights of the old republic 1 and 2 kept me occupied for ages too. in fact anything with the words starwars or jedi in the title are winners in my book.

Blog Entries: 1 | Influential video games? Of course we all remember the time that we first picked up that square controller and played, but the most influential games for we would be Medal of Honor. The first FPS I ever played, I think. Halo 2, and Gears of War. Pretty reacent games, but, once you've chainsawed alien scum in half, your life is forever changed. |

| Trooper ![]() | Wow.... I have so much to say about video games I'm sure I could bore you all to tears with it. Well, here's a list of games that blew me away or were ahead of their time. Legend of Zelda - First NES game I ever played. Not only was it simply an amazing game, but it set an incredible standard early in the life of the NES that few games would ever match! Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!! - Great gameplay and an outstanding cast of over-the-top characters! I still play this today. Mega Man 2 - So much is outstanding about this game. Great visuals (for it's time), great bosses, and some of the most memorable music ever in a video game. Finally a platformer that could rival mario! Street Fighter II - It was the first truly great fighting game. It took years for anything nearly as good to hit arcades! Super Castlevania IV - Even though I was always a Castlevania fan, this is still one of my favorites. Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo - The Castlevania everyone wants to play but few people have. It'll see it's first ever release outside japan at the end of this year on the psp. I didn't get to play this game till I was 22 and it was worth every second of the wait! Castlevania : Symphony of the Night - Again, Castlevania rocks! This game took the metroid-esque exploration (similar to Castlevania 2) and created one of the most enthralling adventures ever! Not only that, but the musical score is probably the greatest in video game history. I have the like 3 versions of this game. WCW vs NWO world tour - I've always loved wrestling games, but this was the first one I ever played where I was totally floored! I couldn't believe how good it was! I was so far ahead of any other game in the genre that it completely blew me away. Guardian Heroes - The best side scrolling beat-em-up ever. Period. Resident Evil 4 - The resident evil formula stopped being fun after RE2. RE4 not only kicked the old formula, but took the survival horror genre to new heights! It's incredibly atmospheric, it's crazy ganados are far more scary than the old T-virus zombies, and it has some of the most fantastically hammy dialogue ever! I play this almost every day. And last but not least.... Warhammer 40,000 : Dawn of War - Not only was this (in my opinion) the best RTS to come out since starcraft, but it's also what got me into the TT hobby. My friend found out I was playing DOW and started telling me about the TT (I had no idea that DOW was based off a wargame) and here I am! Well, those are what come to mind at the moment. I'm sure there are plenty of treasures I left out :P |

| It has to be Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Game Gear- whiling away a boring car journey trying to hit those damn monkeys in the trees who threw deadly...something. Halo though was definitely the first time I ever truely enjoyed an FPS (I got really good at it as well, so that was probably the main reason). Strangely I've only just brought DOW, the game that got me into the TT was Chaos Gate, I've still got it (I borrowed it 7 yrs ago and still haven't returned it) and though its a terrible game it did spring board me into the gloriousness that is 40K. |

Blog Entries: 2 | games that influenced me.... very very very old 2d!!!! FPS that i can`t remember, dune 2 - brought me to RTS, SC helped me with my imagination a litle, though i never liked it that much... and maybe AvP2... for some reason, out of the hundreds of games i`ve played AvP2 had the most captivating gameplay... and it really got me thinking about killing people... i finished the Predator and Alien campaign 3 times... (normal, hard, harder) it was a better 'sneak around' game than thief imho... splintercell comes pretty close. DoW introduced me to warhammer... so that counts a lot ![]() Every other blizzard game played since the lost vikings only made me hate them more and more. I gues that counts too...

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | As long as computer games are being mentioned... Zoombinis: very old. I was in 3rd grade, and that was the most fun game ever. Age of Empires II: HOW HAS NO ONE MENTIONED THIS GAME? I was hooked for so long, but I had a friend's copy, so I had to quit cold turkey... it hurt.

Blog Entries: 1 | The games that influenced me.. nice topic =] RTS: Gotta be Age Of Empires. Both of them. I love them. Absolutely brilliant, started my RTS gaming FPS: Hmm... probably Alien Trilogy. That was amazing at it's time. TBS (Turn Based Strategy): For the empire management side, it's gotta be Civilization. That, was brilliant. Or Master's Of Orion. Both brilliant. And for the squad based.. gotta be Heroes of Might And Magic! Love it! RPG: Probably.. hmm.... Elder Scrolls the originals. Just plain fun games: The Mario and Sonic series! Sonic.. first ever played game.. on the old game gear! And Mario, on the SNES! Other RTS's that i love and play all the time: Starcraft =] Total Annihilation =]
