Ya Know, I won't even play an opponent who uses a computer list that is made using either of these programs. I can't count the number of times I have found lists with illegal models (weapons configuration, etc) or whose points cost was in error . The most egregious example I saw was a steel legion list that had the chimeras listed at 70 points per, complete with 10 point multilasers and 5 point Heavy Bolters. In an IG army with 6 chimera, that was the equivalent of a free squad. (90pts)

Yet, would hand written by any better? Not neccessarily, though ofcourse it is always best to check lists for validity no matter what the source.

Simply said =p

Yeah. I always go through and run my list past the Chaos Codex, and now that she has her new 'dex she will too. This list is a nice tool to help you get organize, and it looks pretty nice. The looking nice is important, as I have bad hand writing and I hvae had some people try to refuse my hand written lists so they couldn'tread them. The easy way to fix any pts. values being off is to cross check it, note whats off base and how it should be, and export it as XML or one of the other file types, then tweak that file until it is correct. I also like this program because it prints out a summary of all the weapons you have, stats, and special rules (I can not tell you how many people don't know what warp scream does, or refuse to believe it exists) for your army. These programs are great, but you have to be smart and check it.

warp scream doesnt exist! warp scream is just a myth!
i think that it would be a great tool for me, cause i ALWAYS mess up my lists. especially with my nids (stitch =] ) cause i always mess up the calculations, cause there is so many!

Yea, is this a product you must buy. I just work out my army lists with pen, paper and a calculator.

Meh, I just use the calculator on my PC, word, and the 'dex. Gets it done pretty quickly, and is correct! Though if I have any spare cash lying around I think I may get this...

it seems like a good program...i've seen people using it at the hobby store [not GW] near my house. although i have to agree with some of you...the good ol' pen & paper, then post on forums way is the one i've grown accustomed to :]
