Thumbs down our weather - and how evil it is!

okay, as a number of you know, i'm canaidan and if there's one thing we canucks are known for it's that were're;
a) slightly insane!
b) obssesed about the weather!!!

so i figured i'd start this topic up for everyone to share in and complain endlessly about just how wretchedly misserable we all are thanks to mother nature

for example, 3 days ago we here in the GTA, (Greater Toronto Area), were freezing our arses off - now, it's spring-like and people are out golfing 2 weeks before christmas?!!
give it another couple days and we'll be freezing again though...O.o

by january, i wouldn't be surprised to see that army reserves back in toronto shoveling snow again

cheers!

I live way up northeast, very close to the Canadian border, so I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. You look off into the woods and sadly see alot more green trees that you ought to 13 days before Christmas (Hanukhah starts in what - 4?). You'd think you were going insane.

So much for a white Christmas.

a few weeks ago, i`ve left the house in just a jacket (15-20C outside), when i returnet at about 2 in the morning i didn`t realize how cold i was util i`ve seen the ice down my ally... it`s was -5c!!! i mean c`mon, from 15 to - 5, in 10 hours?!

<there is no such thing as climatic collapse>

and it stayed like that for a week, when i left for school (highschool, but does it really matter?) i was wearing a full winter set, and at about 2pm everybody would be wearing just tshirts...

<buy coca-cola>

and now, with x`mass just 13 days ahead, it looks like spring :/

<send me all your savings>

i must work a little on my subliminal messaging system

lol! loving the subliminal messages!

yeah, i think weather is pretty much screwed up everywhere. i work in customer relations with customers from the uk and they keep me up to date with the weather. some places its snow and ice, others (not even a few dozen miles away) its still propper spring weather.

I get it now

<you will never use subliminal messages again>

The weather is actually changing for the better, now i can go a litle down the street, it`s all green, i just go out of town and it`s summer, on the way back, i find a lovely carped of golden and rusty leaves, and if i wait a little, i can make snowballs

<you will still send me all your savings>

Yey, the world is mine

Cheers!

Granted, warm weather is nice, but
Ithink it might lead to a global climate collapse, with icebergs melting,
Volcanic eruptions, and the electromagentic field collapsing
Everyone will probrably die

Mostly, I think we should enjo ythe warm weather for the time being,
Even if we have to have a snow-less winter

All in all, we should be grateful for the fact it isn't the other way around,
Like a really, really cold, nuclear winter
Lord knows we would all hate that

Yes, we might all die, by drowining, burning, simmering,
Or melting, but I think it'll be okay in the end
Unless. I'm wrong. Then we'll all die
Rats.

Mostly, though, I think this is just an abnormal winter
Okay, it's warm, but
Not necessarily sinister or
Evil or anything.
You should all be happy to be alive, at any rate.

rotflmao!!! nice one there mate but sorry i'm still not convinvced to send you a single penny...

anyways, the really fun thing about canada; we have no 'set' seasons like the rest of the world... each day the weather will decide what particular season it wants to be, and if we're truely unlucky we'll get two or more different seasons in a single day!

the thing i hate the most about living along the shore of lake ontario - the dampness... not so bad during the hot, humid summers but when it's -20 or colder with the windchill and damp as hell i'm a wee bit unhappy! (and that's the daytime high - you don't want to know how cold it gets at night. )
that and when the lake effect snow starts to pile up, i find i lose my will to live after shoveling 4' of snow or more within about only twelve hours...

cheers!
canuck winter joke: in 1999, the city of toronto declaired a snow disaster. the rest of canada called it 'winter'!

OMG, i love it when it snows! Being in the very middle, most land-locked part of the UK, we dont get much snow.

hahaha. us seattlites are used to nonsense weather too...mostly rain though, it's not cold enough for us to get nuts amounts of snow..sigh :]

but two weeks ago we got huuuuuuge snow [and by huge i mean two inches lol] and all of seattle was crippled, transportation wise...haha XD it took people something like 6-8 hours to drive 20, 30 miles...gross. i heard that it took more than a day for some people from oregon to get home, a trip that normally takes like 5 hours. nonsense.

and now it's sunny. yesterday was the hardest rain i'd seen in quite a few months...twenty minutes later it was bright and sunny! welcome to seattle..

haha

Gosh. People want to give me money?
I have never had that happen before.
Meh. It must be the strange weather.
Maybe it's just your mind playing tricks on you.
I think you've all gone quite insane.
Every last one of you is loopy.

Mostly, we get pretty cold winters up here. I used to live in Buffalo.
Oh boy, were those winters cold. Lots of snow
Now, its 45 degrees (Fahrenheit for all you silly non-americans) outside,
Even though its almost Christmas.
Yowch, is that strange

Not that I have a problem. I get so much snow, it's nice to see some green
Oh, and I don't mean alpine green. i mean normal, grass green.
Who would have thought we'd be getting it now?

Awaiting piles of money for no apparent reason,
R_B

well, my dad's originally from italy and he's still never himself climatised to our lovely, harsh artic weather! (even though he was only about 5 when he moved here!_

so you've never seen much snow eh?! you'd love january here then - we can get an entire winter's worth of snow in a single week... it's called lake effect and it's hell!
even worse are when the winds pick up as they come off the lake - total and compleat white-outs even on urban city streets!!! when it gets 'bad' the entire city, (yes, even the hockey rinks!) are forced to close...
give it about an hour or so though and the sun will come out?! O.o a week later and all the snow will flash melt creating floods...

cheers!

Thats pretty random. I hope none of you read my rant on the weather, as compared to yours its peanuts. The only complaint I have is that where I live in England our beaches have pebbles. Which means you need beach shoes to get to the sea. And hardly anyone goes in because its always too cold. But, as I said, peanuts.

And I just did some subliminal messaging so immensely hidden you haven't registered that you've seen it. But its there, and you've read it, and now you are mine....

Scotland...what can I say?

Well, our weather is continueous, but...

It rains. It rains. It rains some more. Then we get more rain, with a side order of gale force winds. Then, accompanying the increasingly bad weather, we get flooding, it drops to 1°C. Then, just like nature is taking the piss, the fire alarm in my school goes off, and we're stuck out there, in the worst of weeks of horrific weather, for an hour.

That's bad weather. Maybe no snow, maybe no ice or blizzards etc. But god damn it, it hurts, it's horrible, and it makes you feel like dieing.

I never thought I'd say this, but damn it I hate Scotland.

I'm so lucky to live in England. You're out there for an hour when the fire alarm goes off? For us its only about 15-20 minutes, if not less.

Damned weather penetration. The top floor's leaking in umpteen places. It's even leaking in places that I didn't know existed.

Scotland gets load of rain (or so i've heard) but I found out the other day that the place that gets the most rain on avr. in the entire of the U.K is Snowdonia in N.Wales...guess where I live

Cause I live near the sea, the menai straits and some not inconsiderable mountains- I also live in a stupid valley which floods badly and has no tv reception- our weather can be so utterly random. The other day literally within 20mins of me getting out of bed it went from clear blue skies with a barely a breeze to looking like it was dusk with gale force winds- I was almost bent double PUSHING through the wind on my 2 mile walk to work.

By the way im english and th only reason i moved to N.Wales was for uni and because I thought it looked beautiful (more fool me )

I remember when we had really bad winds in england, and my neighbours car was totally trashed when the top roof tiles decided to go AWOL.

Ah global warming, where would we be without it....

I just realised we are all contributing to global warming by creating more demand for electricity by using our computers. Meh, oh well. Looks like there won't be any snow this year then for us in England.
