| Hey guys! This goes out to any of you who use FW models- the ones you need to ask permission for and take up and extra force organisation chart, like Titans or Super Heavy tanks. What is your experiance of using them? Do other people agree to play them? Do the games become too one sided? How does you opponent take the extra FO chart? Are they too many points to use in a 1500-2000 point game? I ask because I am considering getting a Eldar Scorpian type 2 Super Heavy Grav tank (I love saying that). Feedback on that model (ruleswise as well as model wise) would be appreciated.

| well, only time i've ever seen super heavies used is during an astro grand battle, aka: 'floorhammer' as it's known at the oakville battle bunker... they work perfectly in this kind of situation (huge, beyond the barriers of sanity mega battles!) as this is the kind of play were originally intended for ![]() otherwise i find super heavies are simply big, expensive display pieces with which to annoy your friends with as they will no doubt become bitterly jealous of you ![]() my advise: get an avatar - now you don't need opponent's permision to use it! (as it's a legal codex choice - you simply wouldn't use the actual forgeworld rules...) i've played with/against other forgeworld stuff - flyers and most IA vol1 equipment and have had the displeasure of facing off against tau flyers too... (nasty, annoying little buggers that reap guardsmen like it's going out of fashion!) hope ths helps, cheers!

| Conscript ![]() | we treat SHV's the same over here: you must have an agreement with your opponent before you make your army lists whether or not its permissable to use FW things liks SHV's and titans. that doesnt necessarily mean that you will use one, but if you do, you oppenent was forewarned. we often specifically include one in the game and make the mission revolve around it, which is always fun and, as someone whose seen (never used ) baneblades on a table, i think theyre about the maximum size you can have on a table game, as opposed to a carparking lot game! a 6' x 8' table can occomodate a SHV one each side. when you think of it a land raider isnt that much smaller than a baneblade for instance, which isnt as big as many people think (dont get me wrong, its big, but not that big!). same with the warhound, which doesnt have a face much bigger than a monolithLast edited by DeAd_cOmMaNdO; 12-14-2006 at 03:09 PM. |

| Ok guys, thanks for all your comments. I've decided to go with getting 2 Fire Prisms and some more minis instead, just to push my army over the 2000 point barrier, and to make sure it can beat pretty much anything its put up against by changing units around, rather than power gaming. Aftet that, if I haven't fallen to the temptations of the DA, I'll probably get a Scorpian, but not for a bit (my bank balance needs to recover after buying this big Eldar army in the space of a month!) Again, thanks for all the help.
