| Is it just me, or has anyone else noted that the battle reports of late have been little more than advertisements for the latest Army. The adversary army seems to be picked to let the new army win big, so like mindless sheep, we will all rush out and buy the next big thing. A couple months back, we had the eldar beat up on a poorly chosen Black Templar army list. This month the Dark Angels massacre a ludicrous Tau force (not a single Marker LIGHT!!). What next, the Blood Angels massacre a bunch of Ork girl scouts? I used to look forward to the battle reports, but they have gotten pretty lame in last year or so. |

Nice plug. My book review is coming around slowly. On topic though.. Yeah, I have noticed.. Kinda outrageous really. Hence why I just borrow them from my friends. The free shiite they get occasionally seems ok, but not worth 60 USD! | |

| My school has a subscription, so I get 'em for free! I wouldn't really pay money for the stuff they include, they are heavily biased towards whatever new army is coming out. There is also some sort of code as to how their adverts are placed (one staff member at my local store was telling another about it), but I don't know what that means exactly. Though I did think it strange that they had a ad for the new Empire miniatures coming up after some 40k stuff.... And long live =][= The Inquisitor =][= !!!

| It's unfortunate thad WD has declined in the last few years. I remember the days when each turn was written out, along with reaction to the game events. Now, it's nothing more than a large advertisement for the "army of the month". Sad really....... ~fearlessgod~ |

| the last really enjoyable bat reps i recall were the massive 2500pts 'nids vs guard, (poor, poor owen was so very badly thrashed!) and the following 'nid vs ork kill-team game... the 6th edition bretonnian vs ork report was pretty fun too seeing as ant forgot about the green knight in the first game! (oops! )though in all honesty, part of the problem too is that they now have a rule that 'only 'eavy metal team' models allowed, meaning that alot of the time, players are being forced to use models/units they rarely, if ever do actually use in their own forces! (the studio's templar army is plain crap when it comes to unit selection...) also, the guy playing the 'new' army is almost always the lead designer meaning that this is the guy who's spent the last 6-8 months or so living and breathing that army! finally, gw should have a rule about what studio members can and cannot fight bat reps! (anyone recall jervis' attempt at playing dark elves?! not to mention, has adam troke ever won a game to begin with?!!) the worst bat rep as of late for me had to be watching my beloved guard drop troops getting beaten to a man by orks... (someone needs to teach owen rees that drop troops aren't space marines... )cheers!

| Corporal ![]() | They seem to try to use whatever new models just came out too... The Dark Angels will be using Devestators for sure in the next battle report... I liked the city fight that was in the July Issue, but that was the most recent report that I actually enjoyed reading...But even in that issue, The Marines used A ven. Dred, and a scout sniper team, just because they'd been recently released...

| >> The battle reports in general have sucked since about 300. We used to get 2-3 pages per player turn, now we get one page per 3 turns. The stupid-o-meters are a pain, though i never noticed one in this months battle report, or the Shady Angels may have hidden it or something! ![]()
