Default Re: What the $#(@ is wrong with gw managers?

some things to consider;
- age. especially if you're going for full-time, the manager is very likely looking for someone at least in their early to mid 20's. right now our store's youngest full-timer is 24.

- maturity level. don't get into p*%!ing matches with anyone unless you can keep them light-hearted and simple friendly banter... saying things like 'marines suck!' and pretty much meaning it will only help ensure you never get considered for a job!

- don't ever try and talk your way into a staff/customer conversation!!! we hate that. we have a job to do, and we're trained how to do it. it's honestly not just selling ****, you have to be able to ask open questions.
for example, one of our golden rules is to try and advise a customer on what they need.
so while perhaps as a staff member i may be telling a customer they really need to buy perhaps the battleforce because it's a great deal for them and will get them a 'good' starting army, they may want to instead start out by buying a dreadnought & 1 space marine biker... (which overall won't be nearly as usefull as getting their 2 Troops choice and saving that $60+ to boot!)

- check, re-check and then check your resume again for spelling errors!!! that is a sign of laziness & a lack of caring/respect for the job if you can't even be bothered to check for simple spelling errors!
trust me, many, many employers will simply toss a resume into the bin if it has any spelling errors...

- smile alot! if you're a sad panda, you'll never work for this company! be enthused and don't start on about how 'army x' sucks or is only for 'power gamers'... and don't knock on other people! we kick people out for that at our store if they start really rubbing it in/talking too much trash.

cheers!
