Why I haven't been around much.

Sorry I haven't been around much guys. A lot has been going on lately. My grandmother passed on Sunday. We can't live in our house any longer, we are staying with my sister-in-law tonight. My phone got cut off cause we were 2 days late with payment. I finally got a job that I like, but now I'm probably gonna have to leave it, we are leaving this place as soon as possible. I really don't know where we will go, but I refuse to have my unborn child grow up in this place.

Wow, so much has happened lately, and none of it really good. My landlord refuses to fix the sewage smell, and the fumes are making both me and the wife deathly sick. We can no longer tolerate it. Instead of trying to fix the problem, he came the other day and mowed the lawn, told us he was getting ready to rent the place again, and ripped up the fence that my wife bought. Here's the gist of what's all happening with that: He wants us outta there, cause he can get more money out of someone not on HUD (a housing assisstance organization), and he knew we had to keep the doors and widows open, and he knew we had my wife's dog (we have written permission from him) so he ripped up the fence so the dog could not go outside to use the bathroom.

We have called the health department, HUD, and even the county attorney to try to get something done. Nothing. Apparently in Harlan Co. KY, he can just come in and destroy our personal property and we can do nothing about it. I am finished with this place. If I have to walk to the next state, so be it. I will not stay here any longer. So I'll try to keep in touch when I can. I will no longer allow myself, my wife, and my unborn child to live in a place where a sorry, pillhead landlord can basically poision us with sewage fumes, and we can do nothing about it. Everyone in this town is too lazy or incompetent to do their job. Heck, I couldn't even get the fire dept. to come there and check for dangerous gases. I'm a 245 pound man, and for weeks I've been so sick that I can hardly hold my head up. I guess this is my thanks for being an honest, friendly person and trying to make a living for my family. I'll get back on my feet again, hopefully soon. To hell with this place, I'm gone. Sorry to rant, but I just thought I would explain why I've not been around much lately. I'll see you all when I can.

Dude no need to appologize. Sounds like things are pretty crappy down there, but I hope I speak for all of us when I say that we have you in our thoughts and prayers. Keep strong and remember if you need a Laptop on your journeys, I still got one with a shoddy spacebar button, but it works and has wireless capabilities. Just PM me and let me know.

Stay strong for your family my friend, and rant here when you need to. That is what is so great about this comunity!

Well, down at my sister-in-laws right now, just stopped by to see what's going on. I might just call the EPA on the landlord, my cousin suggested it. He's studying to become a U.S. Marshall, and he is pretty knowledgeable about the law. So I might do that. My mom said the head of the security company I was working for called all day, so if I'm around on Mon. I'll call him back. I'm pretty sure he'll just fire me though. The guy I worked with was cool, I stopped by and talked with him a bit today. I hate to leave all the duties to him, but even he said to get outta this place. I don't know where to turn next, really. Took me 4 months to find a job around here, and I liked my job a lot, and then have to turn right around and leave completely sucks. The hard fact is we have nowhere to go, so I'll have to leave the job. Sleeping in a car is not fun, I can tell ya. I'm not concerned about myself, if my wife had a place to stay, I'd sleep in front of the building where I worked, no joke. I've slept on worse than a bench before. Maybe I'll get some things sorted in a bit, so I can get back into the thick of things here. I haven't worked on a model in 3 days, and it's killing me, lol. Wow, it's hard to believe how quick we hit rock bottom. I still don't want my kid growing up here. I don't want it to grow up to be like it's old man, not a pot to piss in or a window to throw it through. I just about lost faith in everything, to tell you the truth. All my life I've tried to do right by other people, and tried to better myself. Now look where I'm at. I've got a wife that's 4 months pregnant and no where to turn. Just a tad discouraging.

It always seems that the low lifes have it easier in life but dont change. things will get better bud,all you can do is try.Dont loose faith,life is hard right know for alot of people becouse of the economy and such. You have a kid coming and theres no greater thing in the world.Good luck bud,TTYL

Well, I gotta call my boss on Mon. Not sure if it will do any good, I like the job, but we have no place to stay even if he doesn't fire me. I'm thinking seriously of going to a big revival at a nearby Baptist church, a employee where I worked invited me there, even called the preacher to come to work to meet me. They seemed like good, honest folk. Most of my family is Baptist, and I'd really like to start going to church, it worries me that my faith is waning. Maybe they could offer some advice, or even tell me where a place for rent is. The revival is in a little town nearby, right near where we got married. It's a small town, but there are at least a half dozen nice looking churches there, probably more. My wife has lived there before, and she said it was a really nice community, and it's like 15 minutes from the security job. So that may be an option, hopefully.
