Your Favorite Music Genre?

We've already had at least 5 different threads with "Your favorite band.", so I thought it'd be kinda fun, kinda' interesting to see what peoples favorites genres of music are, just to see how different our tastes are, and maybe get a chuckle out of it.
I'll start it. My favorite genres are hardcore and death metal.

i like all types from reggae to rock. right now im really into country, really depends on the mood im in.

I am a big classic rock guy but i listen to everything kinda like Rellik it depends on my mood.I just cant STAND techno.If i had a top 3 it would go
1: Classic Rock
2: Metal
3: Country/rap

Death Metal woulda been #1 back in my younger days.

Depends on my mood, and what I'm doing at the time. I prefer Classic Rock and early metal, but sometimes I get a hankering for country, jazz, classical, reggae, R&B, Soul. I don't care much for hip-hop, rap, or most Pop. I've played in bands off and on since the early 80's, and I have played rock, jazz, R&B/soul, and country. I still prefer Rock.

My favoirte is old rock, AC/DC, Areo Smith, Cream, that type of music.

Anything of the genre "Rap", "Thrash Metal/Metal" or "Techno" is in the recycling bin as soon as I find it. I have a changeable relationship with other genres... it starts boiling down to individual tracks rather than what Artist/Band/Genre it is.

Really? What instrument(s) did you play?

I was raised on Led Zepplin and jefferson airplane/starship, floyd,CCR,etc.
Also really like the instramental soundtracks like conan,last of the mohicans etc

Bass Guitar, A little 6 string, Mandolin, Dulcimer, Anything with keys (Piano, Organ, Harpsichord), Anything with a reed: Sax, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, A little drums, anything that requires MIDI (programming). I started withv piano lessons at age 6, and Band with the Sax at age 11. I picked up a guitar at age 13, and the Bass guitar at 15. That's where I am now, only 29 years later. Anybody want to start a 40K Terra Band?

Wow, that's gotta' take skill and talent!
I've been drumming for about 5 years now, playing what ever style the band director says.(doesn't mean I played it well though!)

BC Rich rocks the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude! We need to get a net band together. Brothers of Terra. I can play whatever we come up with. For 40K, I'd say metal!

that's a great idea but how'd it work?

First, get some lyrics. Then, I know you have some riffs floating around in your head, as I do also. Take the lyrics, and put a melody to them, and then build from there. Drums are pretty much always last, because a good drummer can put a beat to anything. Dude, if you're interested, we might do this. I play bass and keys. If you're at least a half-as$ed lead, we can put together enough for me to finish with Cakewalk. First, we need some lyrics, and a basic melody. Can you read music? Lemme know.

I use tab mainly but I could think up some riffs pretty quick

Tab is reading music. I have a program that transposes notation to tabulation. No problem. Do you have some riffs that you like. Send them to me in MP3 form at my email. Cross the pond band? No problem.
