| 5 Terminator Chosen = 180, not 150 Banner of Rage = 20, not 15 6 Bloodletters = 156, not 150 Ok I think your list is very interesting, the 2 oblitz at the bottom of the list really threw me, fluff and otherwise I mean. My very first army in 40K was World Eaters, sentament has kept me playing them over the years and I am always facinated by other peoples take and style. There is a reflexive thought across the back of my mind when ever some one mentions Berzerkers and Blood Letters... 164 and 208 (points costs for favored units, I always give my Champions Talons). So I am sitting here scratching my head as I am counting down points and then I see the Blitz at the bottom and I have to go out and have a smoke to allow it a moment to sink in. Those two Bits are not costing you 70 points each, they are costing you 83 points each cause the favored units would recieve the champion upgrade for free if they were not on the list. if you were bringing more units of dudes then they would be costing you more infact. I know why you bring them, Khorne armies suck against heavy armor and you need some tank popping power. That is what Power Fists are for (I have many thoughts on how to improve the list to compensate for their lack of tank popping but must admit that they are a very specialized army and would be even more broken if any of my adjustments were ever made). When fielding a Khorne based army think of Power Fists as your Heavy Weapon. And, unless you are regularly fighting Necrons with Monoliths, Talons are your friend. they are cost effective variable (if not neccessarilly reliable) weapons. Rending Does Not Suck! e'specially on the attack heavy Khorne Berzerkers. Think of Bloodletters as cheep assaulty terminators! 26 points, S5 Sv3+(5+) Power Weapons!... and they take little if any fire crossing the field since they are summoned For 32points per model you could have Possessed with RENDING instead of Powerweapons and they get to use the enhanced move potential. your lord is good, keep the points cost down I might even suggest you reduce him to a leiutenant. your lightning claw is costing you 25 points, your plasma pistol is costing you 15 points, 2 lightning claws cost 30 points. spiky bits are nice... not necesary. other than that, think about predators or dreads instead of Oblitz, over the years I have found it best to keep it simple, you don't need much in the way of flashy war gear and being able to field several units is much more impressive than a few, especially at 1000 points. and if your not interested in the Favored unit bonus than follow your own advice and field several small units (they have better LD than Nids my friend.) | you do have some good points, and your right, i know i should be dropping the blits and reducing squad size at 1000 points. however, i made this more on what models i had available. so i added up basic costs and thought 'ok so how can i flex this out.' my 500 pt list is alot simpler and probrobly much more effective, because i havnt played with this particuler one yet. in the future, i do plan on getting a predetor with main turrent and sponsons being lascannons for anti-armor, and some possesed. i hate the models for possesed and bloodletters though. the ones i have are WFB Beasts of chaos Gors, led by a khornegor champion. the possesed i will probrobly make out of spare beasts of chaos parts, the mutation sprue, and green stuff. on a side note though, the model for the lord i have is with power armor. when i expand my list to 2000-3000 points, i want my lord to be on an obliterator body with areas of green stuff to look like fur, as if he is a gigntic minitaur like thing, very pre-deamon prince. does anyone have tips to make green stuff look like fur? |

| Each Shot Kills Spam (She never misses) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dan 296 I have some advice to make green stuff look like fur. It all depends on where/how the fur is going to look like. For instance I will assume that you are using it at the top of a coat or something. Just model the green stuff in the fashion you want it, then stabb the hell out of it with a modeling knife. But not too harshly, Close together stabs with a hobby knife should do it, but be sure its a lot (A LOT) and close together. However this isnt the Thread to talk about hobby tips. But the Hobby section is perfect for this. Further more, you broke down the points in your list a bit too much, GW may/will get upset for this. They want you to buy th codex. |

Moding Possessed: you know that "Possessed" is just a sprew that comes with normal CSMs. the neat thing about Possessed is you can utilize lots of things to make the model represent the "possessed" aspect, not just the sprew. Try not to limit yourself, it seems like your not going to with the Obit body for your | |

| for my....chaos lord? oh no i am. i thought about it more and thought it was a good idea because i could use the same model for a regular CSM lord or for a deamon prince w/deamonic stature! but for my list i decided to drop the 'blits and go with a slightly more expensive rout of khorne bikers with 2 meltaguns. i test played this army against my friends tau and it worked out pretty good. turbo-charge + meltaguns=no more ionhead. thx for input |

| IIRC, bikers with the mark of khorne can't take any weapon upgrades as they are still 'power armoured units'... (don't quote me though as my knowledge comes from the 1st printing 'dex!) also, you can't give the banner of rage to anyone except the icon bearer in a unit of khorne chosen... i know it doesn't come right out and say it, but if you read the bit about special icons in the chosen unit entry, it stats quite clearly that only the icon bearer can take a 'special icon'. also, check pg12 codex chaos marines, under chaos icons, 2nd paragraph: "...any Lord's retinue or independent unit of chosen can select a special icon from the armoury..." so unfortunately, your unit champs cannot have a banner of rage! cheers!
