Default Daemonettes?

Forgive me if this is posted wrong Lords and Terrans but it's a multi part question, so I posted it here. HEre are the questions simply and sweetly:

1. What edition of Chapter Approved had the rules for mounted daemonettes? 2. Would you suggest 12 mounted 12 regular or 6 regular and 6 mounted?
3. Are there any good feathery winged bits for slaaneshi possessed? All winged bits I have found soe far that are feathery are A. too big or B. too small. A bigger set of wings for the aspiring champion would be great.
4. Daemonic flight or talons and a rhino for said possessed??

I ask this because I am about to put in my last bits order and wanted to get my list in a final set up.

That is all!

I'm pretty sure that would be Chapter Approved 2004.

I don't know about 2 and 3, but go with Talons. Flight is expensive and Talons will help a fair bit against even 4+ saves. Plus with all the attacks the possessed will get, you should get a decent amount of rends.

The talons will go in. After having them save my arse against a land speeder in combat patrol, as well as wiping the floor with the blood ravens. tac squad in that game, I like them. A lot.

well, lord ikarus looked after no.1! anyways;
i'd go 6 mounted and 12 regular. the mounted daemonettes have speed on their side so they can very quickly cover the distance and avoid enemy shooting... the regular ones though! basically daemonettes go splat when you hit them and your rending depends on numbers, so that's why i'm saying take 12 of the lovely ladies!

as for good wings, try the plastic bretonnian pegasus knights wings... not too big in my opinion and i'm planning to use those myself one day for some word bearers possessed!

flight! simply because you can't assault out of a rhino... give the champion the talons from the armoury for a bit of rending goodness and/or you can always join a cheap lieutenant to the unit.
i like flight because it allows you to not only avoid the nastier effect of terrain, but it gives you an effective reach of 18"!

hope my ramblings help!
cheers!

but 42 pts per model is way too much! go talons every time for possessed, marked or otherwise. none of the other options are worth it in my humble opinion. as for daemonettes, the more the merrier but remember that you only have so much room to deploy them. with this in mind i'd say 12 is good for foot and 6 at most for mounted.

for the mounted ones, i'd transfer them onto the larger 40mm termie bases, simply for ease during game play... those fantasy cavalry bases absolutely suck for the way 40k assaults work out!
(not to mention how difficult it is trying to get even 4 of the suckers on the template when summoning!)

cheers!

I have a surplus there! I got 5 with my obliterator legs (odd for me) and 5 with my terminators, and will only need half. Now I just need to get them, and my possesed done. I may well go crazy and convert my own mounted daemonettes, though how I am not sure..

For Daemon summoning, the base of the models do not have to be completely covered by the template, so you can indeed field a large unit of Daemonettes on Steeds, not sure why you'd want more than 6, but you could if you wanted to...

i dont think not being able to assault out of a rhino is a problem. at the end of a 12'' move, pop the launchers and deploy the guys behind the transport. next turn move the transport away and go to town. thats why im sticking my posessed in a land raider.

Heh its just that the rhino sacrifices and brings weak armor and wastes a turn just to get out.. This is where the Land Raider really comes in handy.

OK, here's my opinion in response to the OP:

1. Daemonettes on Steeds of Slaanesh rules can be downloaded on the Games Workshop websites.

2. 2 squads of 6 regular Daemonettes and a squad of 6 Daemonettes on Steeds usually works well for me in 1,000 points. They can take out anything from the very large to the very small with frightening efficiency.

[side note: the M-Daemonettes come with 40mm bases, but you'll find it hll to cut the bases juuust right for the models to fit in!]

3. Possessed with Talons and a Rhino is better than Flight. Use them as sort of Super-Daemonettes, my ones are made out of the fantasy Harpy models without the wings.

the rules do say that you can choose to have larger bases for models, but you can reduce the size further than the bases provided.

Fielded 2x 6x Mounted today.

ain't that just the most gratifying thing in the game? i once had 6 daemonettes charge a land raider. 2 turns later there was just a pile of scrap metal. i was grinning for the rest of the day!
