Default Model: Emperor's Children

This here is an Emperor's Children list I use at 1,000 points. It hasn't lost in quite some time and has put some of the more... "cocky"... veteran players back in their place.

Prince Ephen, the Fallen Saint - 165
Mark of Slaanesh; Pair of Lightning Claws; Daemonic Strength; Daemonic Speed; Daemonic Aura; Combat Drugs

Emperor's Children Noise Marines Unit Alpha - 263points
12 x Noise Marines
Aspiring Champion w/ Power Fist; Bolt Pistol
2 x Plasma Pistol; Close Combat Weapon
9 x Bolt Pistol; Close Combat Weapon
6 x Daemonettes of Slaanesh - 90 points
6 x Daemonettes of Slaanesh - 90 points

6 x Mounted Daemonettes of Slaanesh - 168 points

Emperor's Children Noise Havocs - 222 points
6 Noise Havocs w/ Infiltrate
Champion w/ Sonic Blaster
1 x Sonic Blaster
4 x Blastmasters

Not bad at all. Howevers, I highly, highly advise taking out plasma pistol. They are not bad, but the kill their own users more often than not. If you really want something plasma, take out a blastmaster and pop one in on your havocs. Plasma pistols have all the drawbacks of their bigger cousins, and none of the advantages (range, blast marker, etc..). I would suggest workign a doom siren on him. They are a vicious piece of wargear that assures your slicing and dicing quickly. I would take out one unit of damonettes, if you're dead set on having the mounted and un. Otherwise.. Just focus on mounted, as the EC often need more speed, and the mounted daemonettes help this. Also, a power fist is not really the best bet to go with on a aspiring champ, IMO. A power weapon, doom siren, and bolt pistol are my common set up. This gives you quite a good mass of attacks on the charge, and if you're worried about strength you can pop daemonic strength on him, or give the unit furious charge. A power fist strikes at almost always last, and the doubled strength dosen't seem worth the slow and cumbersome nature of them to me. Most things you'll be munching with on that squad are just armor saves, and anything with an invuln is likely to be only daemons (which will die under a good hail of CC attacks) and IC, which won't really be low enough toughness (most often) for the poower fist to be worth the extra 5 pts. than a power blade. Frag grenades are a must, so the rest of your squad can bury the men under attacks, reducing them to tattered bits before they even can hit you back. I'll post more later, but a good list so far. I would also suggest giving your lord daemonic flight over speed. Flight means at the beginning of the turn, anything within 18" can be ripped to shreds. also, rather than just daemonic strength, stature is nice too, an extra toughness as well. In the end, the structure of an EC lord depends on how you intend to use him, and yours is by no means a poorly designed one. good luck with it!

i agree with what erus said, exept for the plasma pistol thing. i have actually never lost a model with a plasma weapon to the 'gets hot' rule. may just be the master khorne blessing the only special weapon zerkers can have, or just dumb luck. thats cool too.
the deamonic flight thing could also be fluffy if you used feathered wings instead of bat like ones, cause of the fallen saint idea. plasma fists dont really do that much more for you than a power sword unless you use it on your havoc squad and you plan to use them to take out light vehicles.

well, i assume you mean 'power' fists?!

for a 'take all comers' list or indeed any tournament list, power fists are *much* better than a simple power toy!
all UC's now can't be singled out except by an IC in base-to-base, or through 'torrent of blows', meaning 9 times out of 10, going last has absolutely no disadvantages for the UC...
also, a power fist ensures that the unit can handle any sistuations, like say a dreadnought or wraithlord managing to assault!!! (and yes, i can happen very easily too!) no UC's have the strength to punch through av11 or higher and even with d.strength, you still need 6's to wound a wraithlord/talos/big death gribbly... a power fist can easily swat the bothersome pest in 1-2 rounds on average for the loss of only a few ablaitive wounds

cheers!

Erus -

I beg to differ about Plasma Pistols - 2 war walkers, a wave serpent, and 2 vypers. I'd like to see a Doom Siren do that - mine did today. As for killing the owner more often? Statistically; no. Not even close.

Power Fist - 11 man squad, and using a Power Fist is too slow. You're joking, right? What happens when I get charged by the dreadnought, too? Do I sit there and hope my Daemonettes aren't tied up, or do I smash it into last week? Power Fists are a MUST in my opinion - great, I strike before you with a Power Weapon. What's that? You're a WRAITHLORD?! Damn! If only I was strength 8 or better.....!

Frag Grenades - pass. Usually if something is in cover my Lord goes after them.

Speaking of my Lord...

Lately I've been swapping Infiltrate on the Havocs for MTC, or the two SOnic Blasters for Bolters, and giving my Lord a Doom Siren. Flight - yeah, great. 18" and it dies. Speed? 19" and it dies - I move 6", fleet, and assault 12". And he's not a Daemon Prince - just a prince. Can't be targetted unless he's the closest unit (pg. 51) and with stature, he can be shot at (pg. 55). Why bother with it, anyway? 6 attacks on the charge, not much survives.

3 units of Daemons is how I go. It gives fear factor to my army. I played an Eldar army today, and they looked at what I started with and thought it would be a breeze. Turn 2, and two units of Daemonettes materialise - the look on his face was pricless as my Mounted Daemonettes tore through his Guardians.

Now, Dan -

Speed is represented by the fact that I have converted him using the Fantasy Mounted Lord - instead of the head on the steed, I stuck the Torso of a Marine on there. Looks awesome. To me, that is how I want it represented - the feathery wings is reserved for my Tzeentch Daemon Prince. I like that alot fluffier - he looks kinda like a snake. Thusly, I direct you to Genesis, with the snake tempting (like Slaanesh would) Adam and Eve to do a bad thing.

And why would I do that to my havocs? If they get assaulted by a Dreadnought, they're not doing their job and blasting them. Plus the free icon in the unit gets me some Daemonettes if I need the support. Light Vehicles should be smashed by strength 8 36" range weapons.

E626 -

IC's can't target a single model anymore. Dead serious. They attack models they are engaged with, but there's a difference between engaged and base to base.

And yes, it is an allcomers list. Do you have Imperial Guard? Have some Renders and some Blastmasters! Do you have Marines? Enjoy the Rending attacks! Do you enjoy big bug Tyranids? Again, Rending! How about tyranid swarms? Blastmasters awaaaay!

The Power Fist multipurposes the unit. I HATE seeing over-specialised "big or little" chaos units. Blastmasters - infantry and tank killers. 12-man unit - infantry and tank killers. The only insane Infantry killer I have is my Lord, who, with 6 attacks on the charge, usually does alot of damage. Especially
when he can't be shot at.

This list, in it's past 8 games, has won ALL of them CONVINCINGLY - I'm talking, 6 of them they wiped the board CLEAN of enemies, and in the other two they left very small amounts alive while holding ALL objectives.

Ok.. I'm confused, did you want critique/help, or just want to post your list? Generally when someone posts a list in a forum, I assume they are asking for opinions, but juding from your responses to the enusing posts, maybe you weren't. *shrug* Wasn't saying who was right or wrong m'friend, just giving you another angle to view and maybe see something you could build off of.

Yeah, I realised. I posted it as mainly a directional thing - I'm on multiple forums, and sometimes people ask to see a list for Emperor's Children for advice, so I figured I'd post it here and let them look. Thought it would be a good way to draw people into the forums, too, if they came over here just to look at a list and liked the place and registered. If you want it gone then it can be deleted, but I just thought its a good place to point people if they want to see (and get a few more members for here).
