| Conscript ![]() | i seriously doubt there will be anything in it allowing all termie armies. i love your idea, since nurgle is my fave chaos god and of all models and troop types termies are my fave (i love stealth suits too, but thats another vice...). with DG yo ucan actually have an all termie army... if you dont mund having 6 bases of nurglings. no wait, those do not count as your comp troops (i think). hmm. 2 squads opf 5 marines can be takes, allowing you the spend the rest of your points on termies. i know its less than ideal, but id stay away from imperial lists (especially a special codex one like DA) since counting imperial termies as chaos (cult ones, at that) is a bit of a stretch i think |

Blog Entries: 5 | yea, i knew i'd have to take a few others as well, but to be honest that isnt all that big of a problem. maybe plague marines or some such and of course some plaguebearers.... |
| | |
| | #8 (permalink) |
| Conscript ![]() | plaguebearers, doh! a great choice. theyre cheap for DG armies; count as your troops and support the termies really well. dont rely on their special rules though as those will quickly be replaced once the new codex and its markless daemons comes out. also im not sure id daemons will count as compulsory troop choices since they dont take up slots to be honest id wait the two months for the book to come out. its not that long a wait anyway, and i doubt youre in that much of a hurry to get started anyway. if you really cant wait, start converting termies...oh no, there new PLASTIC ones on the way! oh what a cruel mistress GW is! |

Blog Entries: 5 | personally I prefer the old metal termies (on both sides of the line) stiffer poses yes, but cooler models all around. And yea, while I am starting to amass a few chaos termies, i am going to wait to get the new codex to put my list together. |

| | #10 (permalink) |
| Conscript ![]() | the new ones are bigger than the metal ones with the same details! blasphemer! lol but if its converting youre thinking of (and sicne theyre going to be dedicated to uncle nurgle, THEY BETTER BE HEAVY ON THE GREEN STUF... GOT ME? ![]() yeah, it really is a waste of time beginning an army when the new codex is right around the corner. youll end up buying the new models anyway, and its best to start with the new rules otherwise youll get really confused. thats what heppened to me when i went beack to my nids a few months before the 4th edition codex came out... crazy stuff! i |

Blog Entries: 5 | not by much are they bigger, and the only real problem i see is that the old ones come with 25mm bases and not 40mm bases..... :P But yea, GS is a must for nurgle termies. I did get my hands on a Typhus though and that should be fun to play with. |

| Conscript ![]() | i dont know what you mean about size. iver glued up many a termie in my day, and ive just finished a mojor conversion job on my DIY termie command squad and ive got an old metal termie on standby for scale issules (long story) and tthe new plactic ones dwarf the old one, but other than that and the addition of greaves to the armour, theyre exactly the same. the chaos one are no different. theyve got trophy racks, the same shoulder pads with the big skulls and the helmets with ram horns and tusks. theyre just a lot bigger. put it this way, anyone who knows his minis will know youre mixing metal and new plastic ones from a mile away, though if the GS is heavy and the current ones are extended a bit and (goes without saying) put on 40mm round bases, they should be ok |

| 30 terminators with a fair amount of wargear and it leaves you with enough to include Typhus and 2 squads of plague marines(bare no wargear) |

| Yep - with the new Codex - you are limited to a max of 30 Termies - 3 squads of 10. Still need your mandatory Troop choices - probably Death Guard Typhus or a Termy Lord/Sorcerer for HQ. Can round out with Heavy Support - Land Raiders would fit.....

Blog Entries: 5 | the chaos conclave is basically this: 200+models 1 named character 4-6 other named characters, Daemon Princes, Chaos Lords, Chaos Sorcerers 1 Squad of Chosen OR Termies PER CHARACTER every character counts as a mobile disruptor beacon. quite cool IMHO

| Well, it would look nice if you did it right, but it wouldn't play as very "nurgley", or for that matter, "chaosy". I think your best bet is probably to go for two minimum size marine squads, then back them up with termies. If you love them enough to take the army up to apocalypse size, then all termies is definitely viable, and has a couple of nice datasheets to go with it. |
