| Conscript ![]() | I personally run an assault heavy Blood angel army comprising 2 5 man assault squads trrops both with vet with power fist Chaplain with power fist and 5 death company all jump packed up Commander with lightning claws jump pack ( because GW in all there wisdom now removed the rule of characters joining the DC besides chaplains ) so he now gets to re-roll hits and wounds in first round This is then supported by 2 land speeder tornado's a baal class ( the dirtiest tank in 40K ) and a whirlwind, at 1.5K mephiston gets put in as he's now a monster in the new book with an added whirlwind or baal Dante and lemartes are good but mephiston is the dark horse no invulnerable save but T5 and feel no pain is horrible for any opponents without rail cannons ![]() The list is one of the best in 40K if you play all out dont hold back and you should do well I aint done bad with mine ![]() |

Blog Entries: 1 | Whether or not all-out assault armies are effective is a matter of debate that we've had come up regularly. Personally, I think every army needs at least a certain level of heavy firepower (In a variety of manifestations) to support it. I'm a fan of Land Speeders for that role in normal points games, but in Apocalypse you're best going for the really heavy weapons as support for the assaulting troops.

Blog Entries: 9 | Have you ever tried using Devastator squads, ten men 4 rocket strength weapons. its excellent when you split into combat squads can pin down enemy firepower nicely. Ever tried it Icarus? All assault marine armies can be a pain in the arse to use and to play against, just dont waste squads. I happen to have tried this its quick but it gets beaten brutally against things like nidzilla lists (bloody Hirodule thing) the hive tyrants are a pain. it kicks guardsmen in the crotch but you need to sacrifice a squad or two to get into hth. | it works well. generic chaplin, 20 assualters in 2 squads, 2 Baals, 2 tornadoes, 10 or so DC. lost only to Tau in the last tournament for the lack of cover and going second

| No Matter how you play Blood Angels (I mean correctly) the smart thing would be to run an assault army. Step 1: Load Assault Marines into Rhino Step 2: Overcharged Engines Step 3: Beat the daylights out of enemy in close combat Step 4: Masacare Step 5: Repeat steps 3&4 next turn So if you see what im sayin, its really a wise desicion to run an assault army, all assault is not so good b/ you do what some nice Bolter power

Blog Entries: 9 | Ultramar: I believe he is fielding a Flying army, basically his troops all have Jump packs and so do the DC. The Baals and tornadoes are for covering fire while he pushes up the field with his assaulting units. He will move through and around cover a lot so if he does field any rhino's they will be more of 40pts pieces of cover for his assault marines etc. Most of the time you have to be careful with what you charge as most of the time it will cause casualties back so you may draw a combet or two depending. I would really suggest with the army is to add some long range firepower that is over 36'. |
