Space Wolves army lists

This has been my 1500pt army list for the past year, got me through a a few tournaments with pretty good results.

HQ

Venerable Dreadnought with assault cannon, dread close combat weapon, heavy flamer,extra armour.

Wolf lord with frost blade, bolt pistol, wolf tooth necklace, wolf pelt, belt of russ.

Elites

Dreadnought with twin linked lascannon, missile launcher, extra armour.

6 Wolf Scouts with bolt pistols+close combat weapons, plasma pistol, plasma gun.

Wolf guard leader with power fist, bolt pistol, wolf tooth necklace, wolf pelt, jump pack, frag g.(with the blood claws jump pack squad)

Troops

7 Grey Hunters with bolters+close c. weapons, power weapon, power fist, plasma pistol.

7 Grey Hunters with bolters+close c. weapons, power weapon, power fist, melta gun.

Fast attack

5 Blood Claws with jump packs, bolt pistols+close c. weapons,power weapon, power fist, frag+krak grenades.

Heavy Support

Land raider crusader

Predator annihilator with heavy bolter side sponsons.

Im not sure you should go with a twin linked Lasscannon

The best set up for a dreadnought, is Assault Cannon and His Claw, Check this out, the Assaut cannon is strength 6 rending. So against a vehicle if you roll your 4 dice to hit and they all hit on 3's. Lets say your trying to pen side armor 12 of a vindicator you would need 6's to penetrate, but if get at least two 6's then you roll both of them and whatever the total is will add on to ur strength pretty much asssuring that you now have 4 pening hits, now on 4's the vindicator will be destryed, you have A LOT better chances of destroying it with an assault cannon than a LAsscannon.

Make this guy a wolf guard battle leader. cheaper points for not much different. Also I'd consider loosing the wolf pelt. It's fluffy, but only worth it when facing MCs.

Make these total 8, it's a magic number when it comes to grey hunters. It also works better for scoring units. Also make the plasma pistol a plasma gun. Add a rhino with smoke and EA.

5 Blood Claws with jump packs, bolt pistols+close c. weapons,power weapon, power fist, frag+krak grenades.

I'm assuming you have these because you have the models. They are nice, not very fluffy though. Any chance you can change these to bikers? they gain an extra toughness for no extra points.

Heavy Support

Land raider crusader

Ditch it and ditch it fast. Unless you have a great unit for it, it's a big point sink. These points will be better spent elsewhere. such as rhinos, more foot sloggers, maybe another pred, land speeders, attack bikes, anything that takes your fancy.

Also, ignore the twaddle about assault cannons above. Yes they are good, but that is rolling and hoping for 6's. Twin las and missile launcher is a devastating combo that will sink a tank without waiting for rending. You also already have 1 dread equipped like that. The other point is that combo is only good if you drop pod the dread in. Other wise he has a long walk with short ranged weaponry.
