|  Wolf guard battle leaders... I came across this topic recently on one of the myspace groups, in the space wolves codex it states that a wolf guard battle leader may be given any equipment from the space wolves armoury or/and the wolf guard entry in the army list. This makes it possible to make a wolf guard battle leader with a lascannon on a bike, or a battle leader with terminator armour with assault cannon attached to a squad of grey hunters. Its a strange loophole if it is indeed one. |

| Yeah, Battle Leaders can have ridiculous amount of equipment, but they will end up costing a lot. If I'm not mistaken, the Termie/assault cannon one will cost around 75 points. But they are really cool! I kinda like SW as they are! Their codex is the organized mess that it should be.

   | Well...the only thing wrong with putting a WolfGaurd BL on a Bike and giving him a lascannon is...that the WG listing clearly states that no one riding a bike can use a heavy weapon and vise versa...however putting him in Termi armor and giving him an assault cannon could be possible...but there is the question aboout the one in three rule...does he qualify being the only one?

| I'd have to say no on that one. If that were true, then you could get another one when you got up to three, and then you'd have 2 assault cannons with only three Wolf Guard. You should be able to divide the number of Wolf Guard by the number of heavy weapons and get 3 (or more).

| i'd say no as well simply because the wolf guard battle leader, while a wolf guard, still pays the more expensive pts costs in the armoury! that alone kinda points out that he's not a 'regular' wolf guard and thus should not be eligable for the specific wolf guard upgrades in their own entry... however, there are arguments both ways obviously. still, in the spirit of the game it comes down to 'would my opponent likely complain and see it as unfair?'. cheers!

| WG battle leader Well of course you are both right...after re-reading my codex I must admit that it is both unlikely and unfair...not to mention a bit ridiculous...so here's what I think...give him all the goodies he can have...say a wolf pelt, wolftooth neclace, and belt of russ...then just for kicks a cutom MC plasma pistol and a frostblade...then turn him loose on his foes...LOL...he might actually hurt someone... Too bad you can't place a character on a bike and allow him to disembark...then it would be like taking candy from a baby...
