| well, i'm definately changing armies next year, and as i'm still collecting the bitz i need for my marines, i figured i'd sit down and look at eldar as i have most of the models already! ![]() not too much of theme this time around, though i'v tried for a fairly speedy ground force that can be a little crafty as well... Craftworld Vagonbrei HQ: The Warrior; Autarch Lantesh w/Shuriken pistol, Plasma & Haywire grenades, Forceshield. Eldar jetbike, Mandiblasters, Laser lance, Fusion gun. Cost; 140 pts pure and simply, i went for the nastiest load-out i could think of! mainly have him snipe any tanks trying to mug the other jetbikes and then have him support the spears with his 5 S6 attacks on the charge! HQ: Farseer Jolinar w/Shuriken pistol, Witchblade, Ghost helm, Rune armour. Singing spear, Spirit stones. Eldritch storm, Guide, Mind war. Cost; 138 pts again, i've tried to go for an offensive approch here. i am toying with the idea though of swaping guide for doom in order to combine it with eldritch storm?!! Elites: Raknor, Exarch w/Dragon’s breath flamer, Melta bombs. 5 Fire Dragons each w/Fusion gun, Melta bombs. Cost; 108 pts Transport: Wave Serpent w/Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked Shiruken cannon. Cost; 110 pts tank hunter plain and simple. the serpent is set-up so it can handle any nearby infantry or else take pot shots should a transported unit avoid being entangled... Elites: Marilith, Exarch w/Mirrorswords, Banshee mask. 7 Howling Banshees each w/Banshee mask, Shuriken pistol, Power weapon. Cost; 150 pts will use fleet of foot over a transport as there's the potential for an 18" maximum move here! plus i'll avoid the nastier effects of not assaulting out of a moving serpent... Troops: Ryak, Exarch w/Diresword & Shuriken pistol, Defend, Bladestorm. 9 Dire Avengers each w/Avenger Shuriken catapult. Cost; 172 pts diresword is for annoyance value... if it works, great! if not, then it forced another Ld test and eventually one of them will be failed at some point. Troops: Warlock Kainan w/Shuriken pistol, Witchblade, Rune armour, Enhance. 11 Storm Guardians each w/Shuriken pistol, Close combat weapon.. cost; 128 pts no one expects these guys! again, this is mainly for modeling purposes but it also provides me with a cheap and sacrifical combat unit that still has a nifty I5! depending on how the banshee works (or doesn't! ) i might drop her to add in some flamers for crowd control???Troops: 6 Guardian Jetbikes w/Twin-linked Shuriken catapults. cost; 132 pts ablative armour for the spears... they'll fly slighty ahead and force target priority tests. or else i can zip them off down the opposit flank to go after any objectives. Fast attack: 4 Shining Spears each w/Laser lance & Jetbike w/Twin-linked Shuriken catapult. Cost; 140 pts another evil combat unit and one that'll be fun to throw into T3 specialist units like inquisitors! they also kill marines on 2's which is nice. Heavy Support: 4 Dark Reapers each w/Reaper launcher. Cost; 140 pts my main anti-meq. sit well back and blaze away! Heavy Support: 2 Warwalkers each w/2 Eldar missile launchers Cost; 140 pts my long ranged anti-tank. they are also greatly adaptable and can take out any 4+ save units or else suppot the reapers with some more meq krak rockets! Total pts cost; 1498 pts well, could it work or i am i hopelessly doomed?!! cheers!

| Lieutenant ![]() | It can work, but it will be fragile and some things could go badly if one flank falls, but that is the case for every army isnt it! Anyways, be careful with this army and it looks like it will be fun!

Cost; 138 pts again, i've tried to go for an offensive approch here. i am toying with the idea though of swaping guide for doom in order to combine it with eldritch storm?!! Right, here I would drop Eldritch storm, and take Doom. Farseers are much better at supporting their own units than they are at fighting the enemy, so combine Doom with the Banshees and your opponent has a serious problem! It means they can fight any opponent (even T4 or 5) and still win. Guide will work well for whichever unit of yours really needs to take down a unit, and Mind War will make sure that any characters stay away from him! This looks fine to me... the Dragons Breath Flamer is what I've taken for mine, he's just plain nasty to any infantry units they may encounter! The Shruiken Cannons are a good set up for your Wave Serpent too... Right, this looks good, but I would suggest taking Warshout. Making your opponent take a leadership check will work wonders for those high weapon skill opponents like Orks, as they are likely to fail, and if Marine or Necron units fail it (which happens!) they aren't going to last long if your Farseer has successfully cast Doom... Well, here I would drop Defend, and give your Exarch 2 Shruiken Catapults... They want to be shooting away at the enemy with as many shots as possible, and you don't want them close to swarms! The idea of Bladestorm is to completely obliterate the enemy, or leave so few survivors that they don't stand a chance in combat against them... leave the combat to your Banshees and Storm Gaurdians! Troops: Warlock Kainan w/Shuriken pistol, Witchblade, Rune armour, Enhance. 11 Storm Guardians each w/Shuriken pistol, Close combat weapon.. cost; 128 pts no one expects these guys! again, this is mainly for modeling purposes but it also provides me with a cheap and sacrifical combat unit that still has a nifty I5! depending on how the banshee works (or doesn't! ) i might drop her to add in some flamers for crowd control???Definitely keep the Banshees! This unit works wonders in support of other combat units to out number your opponent and force them to run! Your Banshees need the extra numbers, as there won't be that many of them when they get to combat, and this unit will work brilliantly at making sure that Ork units don't hold them up for too long! But yeah, this unit is fine, keep it as it is... Troops: 6 Guardian Jetbikes w/Twin-linked Shuriken catapults. cost; 132 pts ablative armour for the spears... they'll fly slighty ahead and force target priority tests. or else i can zip them off down the opposit flank to go after any objectives. Yeah, these look fine... they'll just generally annoy your opponent, and if he focuses any firepower on them for a turn to wipe them out your Shining Spears will be fine for assaulting... and they will work great for objective hunting! I've always found the Exarch to be a great bonus! Leadership 9 is really helpful, as is the extra attack! But apart from that it looks like a nice unit. Heavy Support: 4 Dark Reapers each w/Reaper launcher. Cost; 140 pts my main anti-meq. sit well back and blaze away! Again, an Exarch with fast shot may be wonderful here! 3 Strength 5 AP 3 shots, hitting on 2's will really hit those Necron and SM units hard! Plus the leadership 9 is always good, for target priority and any morale checks (your enemy won't like these guys, and you don't want losing 1 or 2 Reapers force the rest to run!) Heavy Support: 2 Warwalkers each w/2 Eldar missile launchers Cost; 140 pts my long ranged anti-tank. they are also greatly adaptable and can take out any 4+ save units or else suppot the reapers with some more meq krak rockets! Well, these will work ok, I guess, but I've never really been a big fan of them. I feel a Swooping Hawk squad would be much better used, as with an Exarch with Intercept even the Monolith is going down! You do need more anti-tank, and I think they would fill the gap better than these would. Plus, a nice large blast template when you come down will even annoy 'nids when you haven't got any tanks to blat! Total pts cost; 1498 pts Sorry I haven't got the chance to check the points of the changes I suggested, but I think with just a little tweeking you can make them work... Overall, a fairly good list, and with just a few alterations I'm sure it will become a great one!

| well, i've done a bit of tinkerin' and here's what i've come up with; Craftworld Vagonbrei HQ: Autarch Lantesh w/Shuriken pistol, Plasma & Haywire grenades, Forceshield. Eldar jetbike, Mandiblasters, Laser lance, Fusion gun. Cost; 140 pts HQ: Farseer Jolinar w/Shuriken pistol, Witchblade, Ghost helm, Rune armour. Singing spear, Spirit stones. Doom, Eldritch storm, Mind war. Cost; 143 pts changed guide for doom. my plan is to have jolinar join either the banshees or the avengers as all her powers are fairly short ranged... i'm looking forwards to trying out doon & eldritch storm on the same unit! Elites: Raknor, Exarch w/Dragon’s breath flamer, Melta bombs. 5 Fire Dragons each w/Fusion gun, Melta bombs. Cost; 108 pts Transport: Wave Serpent w/Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked Shiruken cannon. Cost; 110 pts Elites: Marilith, Exarch w/Mirrorswords, Banshee mask. 7 Howling Banshees each w/Banshee mask, Shuriken pistol, Power weapon. Cost; 150 pts Troops: Ryak, Exarch w/2 Shuriken catapults, Bladestorm. 9 Dire Avengers each w/Avenger Shuriken catapult. Cost; 152 pts ditched defend and went for the 2 shuricats... cheaper pts cost and my poor gurdsmen have suffered from this set-up already! Troops: Warlock Kainan w/Shuriken pistol, Witch blade, Rune armour, Enhance. 11 Storm Guardians each w/Shuriken pistol, Close combat weapon. cost; 128 pts Troops: 6 Guardian Jetbikes w/Twin-linked Shuriken catapults. cost; 132 pts Fast attack: 4 Shining Spears each w/Laser lance & Jetbike w/Twin-linked Shuriken catapult. Cost; 140 pts Heavy Support: 5 Dark Reapers each w/Reaper launcher. Cost; 175 pts added one more reaper for a total of 10 high ap shots... granted they're not a great unit for scoring purposes, but with a 48" ranged that should hopefully protect them somewhat. Heavy Support: 2 Warwalkers each w/2 Scatter lasers Cost; 120 pts swaped the rocket launchers for lots of lovely dice! i doubt even smurfs will be able to ignore 16 S6 shots! Total pts cost; 1498 pts so, improvement or still barking?!! cheers!

| Well, in my opinion you're still lacking in Anti-Tank! You really need one more dedicated unit, as your Fire Dragons on their own won't be able to handle it! Also, Eldritch Storm really isn't going to kill much! You'll have 4+ to wound even lowly Gaurdsmen, and they'll still get their armour save against you! You could score more kills for your army by simply Guiding the Dire Avengers, or another unit... As for your Reapers, I still think an Exarch with Fast Shot is better... its cheaper than buying another Reaper, you only lose out on one shot, and the fact that you are BS 5 should make up for it! And Leadership 9 is just lovely! I'm still not a fan of the Warwalkers... due to the fact that you only have that unit and your Wave Serpent as vehicles, and of the enemies anti-tank is going to have them down in moments! Missile launchers and Heavy Bolters will make short work of them, and so I'm sure 120 pts could be better spent elsewhere... So, an improvement on the old list, but I still think it could do with a bit of work!

| I am liking this army. Though if it were me I would ditch the war walkers and all the gaurdians (not a fan). You defently need more anti tank. Maybe a falcon or fire prism (2 if you have the points). In my opinion I would take at least 5 pathfinders, those few ap 1 shot will hurt some heavy infantry. One strategy that I have found to work very well is a farseer with guide, doom, and spirit stones with a unit of 4 dark reapers and an exarch with fast shot. You can make almost any unit in the game bleed with that. As a side note you should almost always take an exarch with any asprct warrior squad. The Avatar is also a lot of fun, as long as you keep him away from force weapons. He can take out just about anything.
