Default Everyone Step Back!

Cause Im about to open a can of whoop-ass. Though I really dont like the Eldar I couldnt help to notice the new codex, and the arsenal of new shiney things. **Faith Check** Im still a worker of the Imperium, and have to intension of converting to the space fairies.

However there is somethings that caught my eye, this is more or less a tactical doucument about informing you all about an enemy from the stars, and thier new fire power.

For starters Warwalkers are now a threat. Expect more of these on the battlefield. Now that they can carry two twinlinked shurkin cannons (or catapults I forgot which) this lets a squad of three lay down fire power of 18 shots.

Also Fire Prisms are more powerful then they were. With a fire power options similar to the Hammerhead, Str 9 ap 2 blast or str 6 ap 4 ordance this one tank alone has enough firepower to try and stop the Imperial Guard (I said try). But thats not all if you field two Fire Prisms on the field they can combine firepower for one shot of either Str 10 ap 1 blast or str 7 ap 3 ordance.

Ah man I forget the rest, all I know is that the Phoneix guys are stronger (much more) and the Avatar is cool too. damn it... I will try and get back with more specifics.

Do not fear the Xenos, Captain. If they bleed, we can kill them, and even some that don't. I plan on studying more of these Space Pixies by acquiring a Wraithlord, merely to work my brush on.

I believe War Walkers were always a threat, if used properly.

Don't bother killing them too much just yet.
Wait until that day (should it come) when they rid us of the necron threat. then eradicate these fairies with extreme prejudice.
i always believed warwalkers were the bane of SM/termies...

Nothing that a drop pod army / turbo power can't handle

I'm ready to face the new eldar. I was strictly eldar when I first played. Now I'm part of the Monkeigh Imperium.

I say .

Bring it - in close combat =D

I have the urge to play orks...
because they're conversion possibility is near-nurgle. that and i don't like eldar.
I love all of the big-3, but eldar is just the one i will never play... (them pansies and all their [self-censored]-shaped weapons...)

LOL, same here, but luckily, my friend will be getting eldar soon, so I'll be able to do LOTS of killing in His name.

I read up (partly) on the new eldar codex (yes i know its not released, but i got GW friends ) BEAR IN MIND that i havent read the original codex
things i noticed: aspect warrior elites cost a lot for some T3 models. (16+ pts per person come to mind)
also they are 5-10 so they are BEGGING for transports. with T3, some of them not so good armoured, and 10 per squad max, they wont make it slogging it out on foot (fleet helps a LOT though)
War walkers are going to be nuts. starcannon+brightlance on one with the neccesary other upgrades for around 150 per. Though armour 10 all around means holofield is a MUST for staying power. (getting glanced by bolters SUCKS)

yeah so just a few things i noticed when i read through.oh and the fire prisms have some "linking" ability that makes them really awesome, but cant remember details. its all about the big bling diamonds xD

as an eldasr player myself (who's still waiting for my codex to arrive in the post) the new codex is a blessing, there will be less complaining*edited* from marinews about star cannons, and many once useless units (like the dire avengers) will be viable thank khaine!!!

yes. language. "complaining" is much cleaner than what was said before right

why less complaining about the starcannons?
they are still marine/termies killers at 36 inches. and a war walker can mount 2 i believe. (though if you can get close enough a half squad or marines can kill it =.=)

because other weapons will be used (ie star cannons) so you wont end up whith thousands of star cannons, two wraithlords and the rest guardian meat sheilds (oh and the ocasional banshee squad)

what about harlequins? fleet, hit and run, visibility to shoot them 2d6x2 (yes thats right 2d6x2), rending, furious charge, 5+ inv save... theyre crazy!

of course one we actually see them in action itll be a different stpry, but still, they seem a bit OTT to me

Oh yeah: fire prisims: a single fire prison shots either large blast Str 5 ap4 or small blast str 9 ap2. if one fire prism shoots another, the second fire prism (that shooting the enemy) becomes twin linked and either large blast str 6 ap3 or small blast str 10 ap1. coupled with its bs of 4, i think the prism is a ver characterful vehicle that veterans of the old epic will appreceate

Defeating the Eldar is not a tactical matter-it is simply a case of digging a pond and putting a few trees round it,they will be to busy hugging the trees and fishing in the pond to do any fighting!
But Seriously
Ive seen the new eldar in action-ouch,those new Exarch abilities can do alot of damage!
Im tempted to buy a boxset and have a go (even if i dont end up playing them Im sure gonna love painting them!)

Being able to use a witchblade, plus the new Avengers/Banshees/Farseer/Wraithlord models are enough to go and pick up eldar whether you are going to play them or not

I think I'm going to end up doing the same!

According to WD 332:
-Farseers get "Doom" psychic power: all to wound rolls against target unit may be re-rolled (!)

-DR Exarch: Tempest Launcher: R: G36, S4, AP3, Hvy 2

-FD Exarch: "Dragon's Breath" Flamer: H. flamer

-SS Exarch: Biting Blade: +1S, +1S for every hit scored

-HB Exarch: Mirrorswords: Pwr wpn, +2 attacks

-SH Exarch: Sunrifle: R24, S3, SP5, Assault 6, Pinning

-WS Exarch: Spinneret Rifle: R18, S6, AP1, Assault 1, Pinning

-ShSp Exarch: Star Lance: S8 laser lance

-DA Exarch: Shimmershield: 5+ invul. on enitre squad.

Wraithlords now also have Wraithsight, and Wraithsword (re-roll to hit).

It's crazy!

my faves are the spinneret rifle and tempest launcher. the launcher, coupled with fast shot is particularly deadly to marines

I think that taking 2x Death Spinners are more useful for Warp Spiders. 4 Strength 6 shots are more useful against different opponents than 1 Strength 6 AP 1 shot.

but the big thing about the spinneret is that it pins. with the exarchs bs, str 6 and ap 1 that almost a guaranted pinnint test, which as anyone who fights agianst tau knows is a very good thing. of course against fearless armies (like my DG) thats useless. thoug hstill, the str and ap make it better than 2 spinners anyway, which are pretty useless at penetrating armour
