| The four Craftworlds of Rhidol (Kournous’s spear, Vaul’s hammer, Khaine’s Sword and Asuryan’s hand <translated>) were separate trading vessels; with the exception of Khaine’s sword which was a battle fleet intent on expanding the empire so was at the edge of the galaxy at the time of the fall all too small to survive on there own they joined together hidden in the webway orbiting a small death world far away from human, ork or chaos threat it was hidden and safe. The four crew from each of the smaller crafts formed the four houses and each of the houses had a representative on the high council, traditionally a Farseer from the house of Asuryan, an Exarch or Autarch from the house of Khaine, a craftsman artist or trader from the house of Vaul and a pilot or slayer from the house of Kournos. A mighty singing spear was forged to be held by the leader of the council made out of the purest wraithbone The Staff of Rianthol was a potent force weapon enhancing the users prowess in whatever path they had chosen. The high council ruled over the craftworld in all matters from warfare to settling the nearby planets. The planet that Rianthol orbited was at first glance inhospitable but as long as the forest was kept in check and the dangerous beasts were culled every year it was very useful providing the craftworld with food and materials such as gems and metals which the bone singers are unable to produce but were much sought after by the house of Vaul. This state of affairs carried on peacefully and unnoticed by the general galactic populace until a small chaos fleet lead by Sorcerer Mavelous was washed up in the vicinity of Rianthol by warp storms. Though Mavelous did not notice the craftworld itself they found the small settlements on the planets, destroying many mines, villages and farms the chaos warriors slaughtered there way across the civilised land slaying any they saw whether or not they fought back, the only survivors of this massacre were a few hunters who were hidden in the woods when the chaos forces arrived and the warriors of the striking scorpion shrine which had been developed on the world as training in sabotage and stealth. They waged guerrilla warfare against the chaos forces until help could arrive. The high council chose Farseer Calathan (a rare Farseer from the house of Khaine) to lead the army in destroying the chaos presence. The campaign was successful until Calathan lead a small swordwind host into the vast chaos camp, they were dramatically out numbered realising there was no other way of defeating the chaos army Calathan charged head long into the fray, slaying all in his path with the Staff of Rianthol in one hand and a mighty witch blade in the other. Carving a bloody path towards Mavelous he was wounded by a treacherous blade in the back but he carried on, eventually bleeding profusely he came face to face with Mavelous darting faster than the eye can see they duelled for what seemed like an age, evenly matched in martial prowess and psychic ability neither was able to get the upper hand until a chaos marine fired at Calathan, the bolter shell ripped into Calathan’s already damaged rune armour shattering his rib cage and knocking him unconscious, seeing his foe vanquished Mavelous was about to let fall the final blow when a fresh fighting force of Eldar arrived lead by none other than Kandaras himself, knowing he would not prevail against the ancient Exarch Mavelous took the Staff of Rianthol and fled, leaving his followers to the blades of the Eldar and the mercy of the gods. Kandaras lead the new force in defeating the chaos army and none were left alive only one escaped into the warp, Mavelous and he had stolen the ancient Staff of Rianthol. Upon recovery Calathan swore an oath of revenge and exile, to hunt down Mavelous and reclaim the Staff of Rianthol from his tainted hands. Taking a small fleet and any of his kin who’d journey with him he left Rianthol. He searched for many centuries, slaying any who tried to oppose him his name was known across the galaxy bringing the secretive Rianthol into knowledge once more. Eventually Calathan tracked Mavelous down onto the planet Medusa V knowing his duty to the Eldar he and his host travelled to the camp of Elarique Swiftblade and pledged alliance to protect the webway. Once the portal had been closed Calathan set out to find Mavelous, taking only his closest kin who were willing to come and his most faithful warlocks. Eventually they found Mavelous who was still clutching the Staff of Rianthol, Calathan attacked instantly and yet again was outnumbered, still Calathan fought bravely and for the last time came face to face with Mavelous, they duelled for hours neither getting the upper hand meanwhile Calathan’s kin were retreating being out numbered by the chaos marines. It looked like all was lost when a Wave serpent appeared on the horizon, followed by two more, instantaneously Striking scorpions appeared out of the woods the chaos army seeing there doom coming turned and fled but were run down by the howling banshees who leapt from a wave serpent. Leading this force of aspect warriors was Maehdros Angetlam, Calathan’s brother together they slew Mavelous and destroyed his followers. Reclaiming the Staff Calathan thought his quest was over. But while the war raged on Medusa V, human colonists had settled on the death world Rianthol orbited. The high council not wishing to be detected chose to flee. The craftworld travelled for many years until it came to a void near a small agri sector knowing they’d be able to remain hidden the high council of Rianthol decided to stop their journey. The warlocks closed the webway gate due to a prophecy made by High Farseer Elari-Ra, severing themselves from all outside contact.
