| Ello ello, Well I've been pondering this since I started planning my eldar army and have been scouring the internet for answers but to no avail (maybe I did'nt look hard enough). The question is if a eldar army is so specialized, whats the harlequins role? What type of units are they most effective against? What kind of tatica involves there use? I've really wanted to place them in my army but don't know where they would fit in if it all in the scheme of things... I really like there look and love the fluff on them, anyone wana impart there experiances with them or any advice? Cheers mates |

Blog Entries: 1 | Marine Killers!!!! that is what they are for. But you cannot assign them a wave serpent, some take 6 in a Falcon and some footslog, they are very weak in every department except close combat on a charge, they will rip a Marine Squad to shreds.

Blog Entries: 5 | So basically, get them into combat and get them there FAST. One shot ponies, rather like IG rough riders?

Blog Entries: 5 | So.. Would a falcon be the best way to do this in say, terrain sparse environment? Most players at my local shop are fairly stingy on terrain (except for a GK player I was against the other day, pleasant surprise!).

| always take the harlie kiss upgrade for the rending which will shred mostly anything on a day! you could go a power toy on the troop leader... just in case your rending rolls aren't coming that day, you at least still have a few 'no armour save' attacks. also, while it's the coolest eldar model imho, never, ever take the death jester! you don't want to shoot with harlies - you want to fleet instead. as pointed out, harlies ignor cover so always stick to cover. that shadowseer will protect you from pretty much any enemy fire untill you hit the 12" range... considering your charge range of 13"-18", you shouldn't get shoot at much untill after you've made your first assault... a falcon can carry upto 6 harlies and will really annoy your opponent! cheers!

Blog Entries: 1 | Yeah the Shadow Seer isnt that reliable really, though very useful. Basically you have Veil of tears that means the opponent has to roll 2xD6 x2 for range if out of range that unit may not shoot anything that turn. Either I have been really unlucky with that or everytime someone rolls it they are always in flippin range and with a 5+ invuln your going down! One thing I will say you dont need a full squad 10 to be devastating.

thus, for the harlies to truck-in in style, you need to pass both reserve rolls for each seperate unit that turn. i tend to look at harlies as a shock/terror unit. everyone fears them, mainly due to their rending attacks. just throw them into the fray and your opponent will go to insane lengths just to kill them! of corse, they'll be so focused on the clowns that they'll likely ignore at least half your army in the meantime! cheers!
