Hawks may deepstrike in the beginning of the movement phase and bring down and ordinance, and pop back up on the end of the movement phase.

Sneaky eldar aren't they.

Pop back up? As in, return to Reserves? That's ridiculous and outrageous. I assume this is the new Eldar Codex?

well, all we can do is pray that the next FAQ won't take 18 months and be useless (the only good thing it did for SM was tell us that 6 dread armies are legal, which I thought they were already, LOL). I'm still waiting for them to tell me that my Termies do in fact were Terminator Armor.

Every new army that comes out is made more difficult!
I remember when the Tyranid Codex was being released and thinking, "Oh crap!".

As for future Codex's, it's Dark Angels and then Orks.

heh yeah, people moan and groan about it. Its a new challenge, and I love challenges. I love it more when the opposing player gets too cocky and i punch them back in the face when i wipe them out

never said it was a problem, if fact its probably a good thing, 2d6 +scatter die every time he lands, its bound to do something wrong.

I was just saying that, well, it is very cheesy.

i always used them before but now they will be really useful, coupled whith an exarch whith wings & power qweapon nigh unstopable, maybe whith banshee back up.

At first I shared your sentiment, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that they're not all powerful. They've got their niche just like everything else in the army. Against certain opponents, they will reign supreme, but against others... Eh, not so good. I think that primarily their funtion will switch back to a tankhunting role. Either this or a horde killer. All this talk about the invincibility of these guys with skyleap is kind of short sighted. I see them as being hyped up for a while but ultimately will fade into their place and will get overshadowed by something else in the army.

I'm taking a unit of them in my up and coming Eldar army, but will only really use them against gaurd players, or armies with lots of tanks. Stength 3 guns just arn't as useful against Space Marines of any sort, or Necrons. I plan to get an extra squad of warp spiders to use against armies like these, unless the necron player has the monolith, in which case, haywire grenades and exarch intercept power (hits vehicles on nothing worse than a 4+, even against skimmers) looks good!

I like the models too much to let them pass. Even if they are impracticle in a regular list, I like them better than warp spiders.

I like them, too. They are quite mobile from what I know. According to the White Dwarf I just got, the Exarch can also apparently carry an Assault 6 version of the regular gun. Ouch... I'm beginning to truly fear the Eldar...

Well, T3 and Sv 4+, so Heavy Bolters are gonna have a field day!! Just if you are using the HB with gaurd, watch out for the grenade pack.

Well, with the new power that lets the squad return to Reserves and off the table, I don't know if I'll get a chance to shoot!

Besides, looking through the Codex will no doubt be amazing. I want to see the new Harlequin rules.

A DH Inquisitor with mystics and heavy bolter gun servitors in his retinue should do the trick. Mystics allow you to fire on deepstriking enemies as they arrive so there will be a few less going up as came down.

Yeah, I see a real hole in the swooping hawk bounce tactic. It's too ineffective for the cost of the unit. Hawks need to be used as a fast response, anti tank and horde infantry squad. I plan on taking 7 of them with an exarch and intercept. No additional skills or upgrades. I still don't know if this will be sufficient, but my thoughts are that I'll hide behind cover and leapfrog up until I get into charge range of a tank. With any luck, I can blow it and hide behind the remains until next turn...

Hi I was looking into the hawks and the Sky leep. In the main rule book it states that entering by deep strike you may not move. As Sky leep is a movement after deep strike it goes without saying that you canot enter a game with deep strike and leave using Sky Leep in the same turn??
