Uber-Autarch!

Yep, I finally gave in to the super-Autarch combination- that's an Autarch with mandiblasters on a jetbike, with a reaper launcer and a laser lance for anyone who doesn't collect Eldar. One of the GW staffers gave me a hand (in fact, he did most of it, so all credit goes to him). It looks real sweet (I used a Banshee helm though instead of a Mandiblaster one, as it really does look so similar. Also, he has a Bright Lance for a laser lance, it looks better. I'll have some pictures posted up shortly, once it's painted, I just thought I'd let you all know it has been done!

ah yes! when i was talking with the man himself back in may about the new eldar 'dex and autarchs in general, this was the first one that sprang to mind! so very rude this fellow is. "and i move and i shoot and i hide! and i move and i shoot and i hide!"
another favourite pick is the hawk wings and fusion gun... an excellent cheap tank hunter as the autarch also comes with haywire grenades!

i'm thinking of building up 3 or even 4 different autarchs myself! it's always nice to have some variety.

yea having a veriaty of commanders for all situations is nice. but wow thats a really cool build.

I think she's refering to Phil Kelly, writer of the Eldar 'dex. Oh, and I now have both those Autarchs you mentioned Stitch, as I already had the 'Tank Popping' Autarch. Though really, hiding isn't that important for the Uber-Autarch. As he never loses the Shruiken Pistol he still has +1 attack, so thats 6 strength 6 power weapon attacks, hitting on 3's against pretty much everything, and striking first against everything unless you're taking on Genestealers! Give him a Shining Spear entourage and you will most likely be able to kill an entire Tatical Sqaud per turn, after shooting and assaulting! Man thats sweet.

Just have to hope the fiancee dosen't see this... No marine killing autarchs are nessecary! *gulps*. Fine builds though, and I look forward to seeing how it is done. Most Autarchs on biks I have seen use a modified vyper, is that your path as well?

keep in mind though that no model can ever have more than 2 weapons! the reaper launcher is 2-handed, while the lance is single handed...
so you *only* get 5 attacks at high strength and inititve i'm afraid!

the other question that's recently poped up concerning the hawkwings & fusion gun autarch is if he's joined to a unit of hawks, can he benifit from the exarch's intercept skill? (i've heard alot of very emphatic NO's! about this for some reason?! )

Only 5? What a terrible shame....

Mine is just on a normal jetbike, I didn't want him to be out of place jetting around with my shining spears. I should be painting him today, so expect pics either this evening or tommorrow.

I think he should get the intercept skill if the Exarch has it, as it as long as it doesn't say something like 'Every swooping hawk in the unit', which I don't think it does. Its probably people not wanting their lovely skimmers or monolith being picked on

ive found that an autarch with fusion gun+warp spider jump pack works every time, my regular opponent uses this combo and he destroyed my crusader and ven dread on 4 different occasion, the cursed xenos always gets his points back in double, sometimes triple! And never rolls a double when jumping back to safety!

For those of us who the Dice gods seem to hate, its a nice option with Swooping Hawk wings. My guy has at least earned back his points in each game, sometimes double. But thats because no-one I no uses many tough tanks (except today, when I killed 2 Land Raiders in the same turn with Swooping Hawks and an Avatar).

Swooping Hawk wings,Fusion Gun and Mandiblasters are my favoured combination at the moment. Tank hunter and can take out a squad of marines in a turn (with lucky dice rolls killed 5 and ran the rest down)!

Yep, I use that one the most. Took the main gun off a hammerhead today before getting his ass blasted by 6 burst cannon shots, 2 plasma shots and 2 rocket pod shots. But then I really was playing badly.
