Blog Entries: 2 | Hi I was under the impresion that Fire Dragons were the best choice... but recently i saw a shooty eldar list (stich knows what i`m talking about) that used Warwalker instead... Come to think of it, eldar has quite a few ways to deal with armor... What do you usualy use, and why?

| hmmmmm... how eldar deal with armoured targets; - fire dragons trucking around in a wave serpent expensive, but quite tasty and also good at ambushing things like termies too as each model carries an eldar meltagun! - vyper w/brightlance. fast and only 75 pts. great bargain if you can make it work! the downside being that you have a one-shot BS3 weapon... - fire prisim/s one is good. two is brutal. 'nuff said! ![]() - war walkers w/2 EML's or 2 brightlances slower than the vyper and slightly more prone to dying quicker as the enemy can cause penetrating hits, but the added bonus of the 'scouts' special rule & it can mount 2 single-shot weapons meaning you pretty much ensure at least 1 hit each turn... - harlequins w/harlie kiss well, it's 'rending'! anyone who's ever had the misfortune to let 'stealers or possessed marine w/d.talons near a tank will tell you it can rather "unpleasent"! - swooping hawks inclu exarch w/intercept skill the true 'up close' masters of tank-hunting. always hitting on a 4+ or better and they come with haywire grenades which are pretty sick! (better than melta bombs far as i'm concerned...) more likely to destroy a tank, less likely to cause a massive great explosion in the process1 - shining spears inclu exarch w/star lance the regular spears have S6 'lance' weapons and can easily get them in position to take pot shots at side armour... the exarch's star lance is S8!!! the only real problem being the lances are limited to only 6" range, but it can make for a nasty surprise on an unwarry opponent! - autarch w/fusion gun + hawk wings or jetbike. okay, so it'll be deaad obvious to your opponent that you intend to tank-hunt, but still it's a BS6 melta shot! oh, and don't forget the haywire grenades he comes with to begin with! i think that's most of the anti-armour units... cheers!

Blog Entries: 2 | I think you missed the brightlance platform ![]() I learned some new stuff, thanks ![]() But, do i HAVE to take the waveserpent? In that case swooping hawks seem better ![]()

| no, you don't have to take a wave serpent... but it does make it much, much easier to get say a unit of fire dragons to their target in one piece and can provide some pretty heavy cover fire to supress anything that could support the dragon's real target! ![]() it's no use slaging one tank, only for you opponent to mug the dragons with some nearby assault marines simply because you didn't have any other guns handy to tackle them... cheers!

| The Witchblade/Singing Spear can also be an effective tank-killer; they triple the user's Strength so you can even penetrate a Land Raider if you roll high enough. One note about assaulting vehicles - you're squad's always left huddled up in please-blast-template-us formation whether you pop the tank or not. No consolidation moves afterward. |

personally that's the main reason i like haywire 'nades over melta bombs as you're much more likely to cause multiple glancing hits instead of a pile of penetrating hits... much better odds you'll kill the tank and leave yourself some nifty cover! cheers!

Blog Entries: 4 | Swooping hawks all the way-with the Haywire grenade and the Exarch ability Intercept (never need worse than a 4+ to hit a vehicle) and Sky leap so they can drop where you wnt them. I use Fire Dragons as well but they stay back in my lines and act against threats like teleporting Terminators or Tanks that get too close. If I take a guardian squad I take a Scatter Laser as its good at taking down light armour and infantry! |

| The plan requires: Catnip A sack A cat Get some catnip. Sprinkle it on your opponent's tanks. Let the cat out of the sack. It's like a SUPER DREADNOUGHT. -- As far as taking out tanks in a game, it depends on what your army's designed to do, and what tools you took. War Walkers are right for some armies, Fire Dragons for others.

Blog Entries: 4 | Another nice trick I have been exploiting recently is a Team of 3 Vibro cannons with a Warlock using conceal-The Vibro cannons Auto Glance any vehicle they hit and the warlock gives the team a 5+ coversave! Because it hits in a long straight line (and gets anything under it) it really makes your opponent squirm as they try to aoid "lining" things up lol |

Blog Entries: 4 | Nope no catch-the only down is rolling against the Guardians BS to hit but take three and you get three chances to hit so as long as one of them hits you get to fire a 36" long line in any direction that Auto glances any vehicle (no dice roll required)-Take that Land Raiders, and any infantry take D6 hits at a strength between 4 and 6 (depend on the number of Vibro cannons in the battery. And the Warlocks Conceal power is constantly active so there is no perils of the warp! |

Blog Entries: 4 | Ive seen one spend three turns moving across the table to the enemies flank-the battery lost a couple of Guardians but was still able to fire all three Cannons, it got a hit and drew a 36" line all the way down the Imperial Guard deployment lines and pretty much wiped him out (took out a couple of tanks and the units of infantry he hit were pretty much wiped out or fell back) |

| Conscript ![]() | wow! thats a risky tactic, but really rewarding if it pays off. i like reading things like that. it makes me hope theres still ingenuity left to this game! how about basing the rest of the eldar army around guarding/protecting 3 batteries as they move up the flanks? lol! |

Blog Entries: 4 | If I remember he used a feint to distract the opponent-putting pressure on the other flank so he concentrated there whilst moving a few squads in along the whole line to keep him from withdrawing to one flank..then BAM he hit him hard! |
