|  Tau & Chaos Team Me and kenshin620 are always facing each other off (since we seem to be antisocial so we never seem to ask anyone else...) Anyway, I just recently decided on making my army a chaos and tau alliance, as detailed in several other threads I made. I was wondering if anyone has any interesting ideas on how to use them (yes, I know, kenshin's most likely going to check this out as well...) Kenshin's having a...difficult time figuring out what he wants to add to his SM. (I said as long as he has a good back story, I'll let him field whatever), so I can't tell you much about what I'm up against. btw, my current tau units are 9 crisis suits and 19 gun drones. I bought the insertion force, but I can't fit the stealth team in. Current army standing for me (general idea, I'll detail it later): HQ: Chaos lord w/ lightening claws Crisis suit commander w/ escorts-anti terminator equipped Elites: Chaos Terminators Crisis Suits-anti tank equipped Crisis Suits-anti infantry equipped Troops: Khorne Berserkers CSM (5) CSM(5) Fast Attack: Gun drones-6 Grun drones-7 Heavy Support: Defiler Havoc Squad

Blog Entries: 2    | I just think you`re a little low on the model count  And i really don`t know about the drones.... Safe for that, i really like it  A defiler should be in any chaos army (well, unless you bring basilisks )How big is the KBZ squad? And how many Suits are there? if you serisouly added 9 suits.... i <3 you Though you might lose horibly.

| there's 8 in the KBZ, and yes, I have 9 crisis suits. yeah, I'm not sure about the gun drones either, I'm taking them out and replacing them with some other unit when I can... kenshin says he really doesn't know what to use against me since I apparantly took two specialized armies and put them together (chaos has a lot of CC, tau are all shooty)

| you're best bet is to use two seperate force org charts... so make one 'pure' chaos army and one 'pure' tau renegade army. otherwise you should stick to the ally rules as found in the 'hunter codicies so as to keep things a bit more balanced! your best bet though would be to use the 2 FOC's. for your tau force, go for a 'counts as' farsight force. (ie: use the farsight rules, but re-name farsight himself to your own character!) this way, you can use all those suits and even add more! i'd also take some hard-wired drone controllers on your team leaders; shield drones really add to the survivablilty of crisis squads! cheers!

Blog Entries: 2 | Well, he`s low on the cannon fodder count.... 9 suits is a lot Maybe try to make those squads of csm 6 man each? I still have to ponder on this one You are honestly the first guy i see not to take serious heavy support choices in this kind of an army :P

| This would be a very disguisting force indeed, but I have to say it....... how do you cover this with fluff? CHaos are doing it for the greater good? Tau slaves? Im not sure here....... Though it is fun to make your opponents go wha?
