there was a point when i was going to do Black Templers, and although i cant remember the specifics at this time, i remember that Abhor the Witch was the only vow i gave much time to.

i really like ther 'suffer not the unclean to live' vow.

true it may seem that -1I is a very steep price to pay for a +1S bonus, but there's ways around it;
- crusader squads have much larger squad sizes! having 12-14 bodies in a unit means i can afford to lose a casulty or two... but when i do hit back, i'm hitting back hard!

- power fists & thunder hammers become a much tastier option! few people would ever give a thought to a thunder hammer-wielding HQ because you're usually I5. with only I4, you're not losing out as much...
it also means your HQ becomes a huge threat to those larger gribblies who would typically tear you to bloody rags!

- again, your squads become much more effective when mugged by things like carnifexes, tyrants, greater daemons, wraithlords and such. regular space marines can't even tickle a wraithlord without a power fist! but with S5, now your entire unit can hurt it! (albeit you need 6's, but still...)
other tough opponent's like nurgle marines and bikers become much less of a hassle as well...

- combined with furious assault, you can cause 'Instant Death!' to T3 models! so that inquisitor lord, guard officer, cannoness, autarch, farseer et all go squish when you hit them with your assault termies, command squad or sword brethren units!

For now i only used the cheap "Uphold The Honour Of The Emperor", but thanks to your comments i can see the points of the other vows.

For now "Uphold The Honour Of The Emperor" has been good to me because i´m very melee and well it could save you from a power weapon

Uphold the Honour, because it's cheap and versatile. Of course it's not very useful against armies like 'nids who don't have a lot of >Ap3 weapons, in which case I agree with Stitch on her pick.

I can't remember anything at the moment. My vow of choice is the vow that costs 50 pts. (Can't remember what it's called). I like it because all of your units can hit on a 3+ in CC, IIRC.

that would be the 'accept any challenge, no matter the odds' vow.

overall my least favourite because;
a) literally everyone in my area who plays templars takes that vow!
b) perfered enemy doesn't work against MC's/TMC's and/or IC's. so you're paying pts for a vow that isn't 100% usefull...

at least the +1S is a definate and you can count on it, same as the 6+ invulnerable save and the 'abhore the witch' vow which protects against psychic powers and nullifies all minor powers! (except synapse or similar...)
