| The Witchhunter ![]() | luthor, you must take an Emperor's Champion if the game you are playing is 750 pts, there is no choice. the emperor's champion doesn't take up either of the 2 HQ slots, so if you wanted a chaplain as well as a marshal or castellen, thats fine, but you must still have the Emperor's Champion! |

| Besides, the Emperor's Champion is ASEWSOME. 2+ Save armor, 4+ Inv. S6 POWER WEAPON!!!!! I forget what his I is but... he is a monster. Stick him with a crusader squad or sword brethern, and he will kick serious butt.

with only 750pts and the mandetory champion, you're looking at a minimum of 195pts by taking the chaplain as well! (and that's giving the champ the cheapest vow and not buying a single thing for the chappy!) however, if you go for a castellan w/power weapon & bolt pistol, you're only spending a total of 181 pts on characters. (again, that's giving the champ the cheapest vow.) those 14 pts you save get you a neophyte, or perhaps some frag grenades for a large crusader squad... so now you see the problem with templars at low pts values! that mandetory champion, while very cool and all, sucks because you're forced to take 2 expensive, non-scoring models in an already flawed army list... (space wolf players are in a similar boat, so try talking to a few wolf vets about how they get around the need for mandetory & expensive IC's in smaller pts games!) cheers!

Blog Entries: 1 | As always, listen to what Stitch says. The EC is pure HQ ownage.( ) In single combat, he can take down most HQ units, with the exception of tooled up Chaos, Nids, and a few others. If attached to a Sword Brethren squad or even a CC Terminator squad, nothing short of a demolisher cannon can stop him.In my list, I take an EC, a Marshal, and MoS. I still haven't posted it up though, so how points effective that is is yet to be determined! |

| so i can use him as my hq choice even though he dousent take up a slot on the force orgonisation chart. thats one of the main resons i dont want to take him just incase he dousent take up the slot and i have to take another charecter which just eats up points and i made sure my army was just under 750 pnts so that i dont necesaraly have to take him, a bit underhanded and sneaky i kno but i checked with someone at the games workshop and he said its perfectly legal most of the time the lists i write are about 748 pnts |

| The Witchhunter ![]() | In 40k, an army that weighs in at 746 points will still count as a 750 point army. essentially, people tend to go in blocks of 250 points, so like erus says, you will be hard pressed to find someone to play a 746 point game. why not play 1k if you are unhappy with having two hqs at 750? you may even squeeze a bit more in. but either way, you are stuck with having to take an EC and another character at 750 points, or anything near or over it. |
